...this is one of the most beautiul albums ever!...melodic vocals acompany by heavy, tribal druming, and combine with glass-shattering guittar riffs which are the backbone to the background music of the tales of serial killers (Pretty Polly) and weird Japanese monsters (Maraykin)...how can you not love this!?...

This has got to be one of the best music DVDs around, H.I.M. have got to be one of the best bands on the planet, anyone who hasn't heard any of their music needs to. This DVD contains material that any H.I.M. fan would go crazy for, it contains their early work dating back to 1995 up until the greatest hits album 'And Love Said No...' 1997-2004. Contains all of the classic H.I.M. videos for Wicked Game, Pretending, Right Here In My Arms, and many more including live footage of a cover version of Billy Idols Rebel Yell, and also contains an extra Disc 'H.I.M. VS Bam', that is incredibly funny, and shows you Bam Margera (Of Jackass and CKY fame) making the videos for songs off H.I.M.'s fourth album 'Love Metal', and also the CKY/Jackass crew are ... This a live collection of songs from the first 4 albums, plus the single Dear Prudence and it is stunning, starting with Israel, it just gets better, ending with huge scarey Voodoo Dolly.
Amazing sound, great performance, Robert Smith( The Cure) 'filling in' for the recently departed but brillant guitarist John Mc Geoch ( albums he played on - Kaleidoscope, and Juju), a band on form and enjoying themselves.
get the DVD, as its great to watch.
One of the best live albums ever, in my opinion.

Arrrggh why did it take 26 years for me to find this amazing group?!

This is their debut album, released 26 years ago in 1981 when all was right with music. This is an essential blend of early-80s contemporaries such as the Replacements and the Only Ones mixed with the lighter side of The Cure/Joy Division/Magazine. It still sounds fresh though, and if you can at least take a listen to 'Unguarded Moment' you might hear the influence they've had (It's if The Shins have lifted their sound directly from this song, it sounds EXACTLY like James Mercer on the harmony backing vocals).

That sums it up really, a post-punk/pop/rock blinder that I'm going to spend a very happy summer listening to. It's magnificent, as is the follow up ... Read More:

Hi everyone. This is not a review, as I have far too much wine in my system for that, but I'm just listening to some old Neph and came on here to see if I had possibly missed something over the years that could provide me with a new fix. However, I have to take issue with the person who said;

"....But then PLEASE don't cry out that Carl couldn't sing - we all knew he couldnt sing a note but with such a tense musical atmosphere so what?! Think of Carl's voice as 'vocals' in the true sense of the word!"

Now, no offence, but... Mr. McCoy's singing is perfect for the band and always was. Listen again to this album and tell me again that Mr.McCoy can't sing. He has more passion in his bottom lip ... Read More:

The Botanic Verses

The March violets are possibly one of the best Goth bands. Just like Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, they came from Leeds, and also like RLYL, they were slow and droning in music style. I barely knew anything about them till I heard Snake Dance at a club. Although it did not have a very dark atmoshere like the other song, it had a great beat and excellent lyrics. But once I purchased this CD, I realised that they had a lot of good songs. I have never been able to find any of their origuinal records, this collection is pretty much all you need. Another brilliant compilation by Cleopatra, And a good addition to any goth music collection.

Why didn't anyone buy this when it was released? It's lovely!!! I got into it due to "Under the Milky Way" being on Donnie Darko, but the rest of the album is equally good.

Good to see that the '80s weren't a total write off!!!

I was lucky enough to have my boss buy me this album as lil surprise. I have all the other albums and have loved Moonspell for years...and then came Night Eternal...and blew them straight up in my books. The album is so well thought out and genius. I saw the videofor Scorpion Flower and was not exactly blown away as I thought of it as a bit of a Cradle of Filth Nymphetamine afterthought...but the song has grown on me and it is brilliant. Back to the album... just plain and simple...potent, powerfull and beautiful from the first note to the last. Stand out tracks for me: At Tragic Heights, Night Eternal, Dreamless, First Light(one of my fav songs ever). I would still say Antidote is my favourite...but this is right up there with it!
