The Chicago Story: the complete Greatest Hits offers the finest selection of music by the band. Chicago reached stardom in the mid 70's throughout the 80's, with a host of hits such as If you leave me now, You're the inspiration, Will you still love me, Hard habit to break and many more. I really enjoyed listening to the album and is one of my favourites, as it is a fine blend of music from the 70's and 80's. The music is a combination of jazz, rock and pop.
I would strongly recommend this album if you are fan of quality music from the 70's and 80's. This is really a great album you can listen time and time again. Their is an element I admire most about the music which are its soothing tonne and upbeat feeling to it.

GHV2 sums up Madonna's singles from 1992 to 2001 from Erotica, Bedtime Stories the Evita soundtrack, Ray of Light, Beautiful Stranger and Music.
What I like about the album is it's artwork and the jumbled track listing.
What I didn't like about the album is the editing of quite a lot of tracks.
However, not all the singles are here and there's no new music either but if you're a Madonna fan who's enjoyed the hits from the 1990s, then this is a good start before you venture further with the albums.

In the early 1970s Lindisfarne was one of the biggest bands in the UK. They were an albums band and only had about 3 top ten hits with Lady Eleanor, Meet Me On The Corner and Run For Home, the last one much later in 1978. The style is an appealing blend of melodious folk rock with the emphasis on harmony, not unlike the folk legends Fairport Convention. There is also a distinct English flavor in the lyrics and delivery. Meet Me On The Corner, the huge hit, is a somewhat melancholy and very tuneful song with prominent harmonica and poetic lyrics. My other top favorites here are Fog On The Tyne, another catchy number and the title track to their most popular album, and Run For Home which is more in the rock mould. Lindisfarne showed much promise and although ... Read More:

Now I don't claim to be a Rock expert, or a devoted fan of Mr. Kravitz. I have followed his career for a number of years, and every now and then a song of his will catch my attention. This CD is the perfect one for me, as I won't be getting all his CDs, and this covers the best of them( saying that I would like his very Curtis sounding' What goes around come around' from his Mama Said CD. This leads me to my second point. In his earlier CDs as he struggled to find the right line between sounding like your idols, and finding his own voice, he often came across as an immature artist. I believe that after four or five Cds he is finally starting to find his own voice. My favorite songs on this Cd are' Are you Gonna go my way?'' Fly away', 'It ain't over 'till it's ... Read More:

This album is simply a must have for every self respecting thirty something. Albums like this hide in the background but when they're found they unleash a whole new wave of just how cool it was to have lived through the 80s. (assuming of course that New Romantic / electro was your thing)
"Photograph" is a classic and "I ran" just brilliant.
Release Date September 09, 1996
A rather different sound to their more instrumental efforts earlier in the 70's. Many pop anthems here, including Ladies Night and Celebration. Go on, strut your funky stuff !!!

This is by far the best Thompson Twins hits cd on the market. As many reviewer here will state there are many compilation cds avaliable and it can be a minefield trying to navigate your way through them. The 12" collection was interesting for the extended versions of Twins tracks many on cd for the first time but was severely lacking in the design and presentation department. With a generic cover part of a series of cds with an abstract picture of the Twins on the front. But this release uses the original Thompson Twins font and colours and three headed logo on front with decent pictures of the Twins. An aproach that I think works well.
But its musically that this compilation stands head an shoulders about the rest of the best of cds. It is the inclusion ... Read More:

why? Yet another compilation album. Make no mistake, the compilation album is dying. Anyone with iTunes can make their own compilation in 5 minutes, and they are inevitably better than things like this - I certainly have.
It's a cheap, tacky cash-in. And it's not as if there haven't been a few of those already : 1985's "Singles", 1998's "Singles 86>98", 2004's "The Remixes 81-04", a lacklustre and boring reissue programme of every studio album they've recorded, 50 live albums ... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
If you don't have anything by Depeche Mode, and don't care if the songs are in any chronological order, sure, you can buy this : it has less than half of their hit singles in random order, which present a bizarre uneven listening experience. New track "Martyr" ... Read More:

Put this pretty boy music on and it will lift your mood. If you like your music happy go lucky and shallow then this is for you. I don't mean that as bad, it is just that, soft rock, middle of the road. It has some good bits and his voice is very good. If I ever want a good looking man to sing to me the odd sad love song?? I will slip this on also, Now And Forever is a classic, but I don't want to snuggle a cushion with a handful of tissues and remember past loves.
It is just something I won't be playing often all the way through. I got it as it was cheap and I liked his singles Hazard and Right Here Waiting.
Release Date March 20, 1999
All but two of the recordings on this album are taken from four older albums: BUILDING THE PERFECT BEAST (4 of 13), THE END OF THE INNOCENCE (5 of 13), I CAN'T STAND STILL (1), and TOWER OF SONG (1). That is, they're the same recordings, not re-recorded or rearranged to 'get a musically superior version'.
Speaking for myself, knowing that and being able to get "Dirty Laundry" with a sampling of songs from BUILDING THE PERFECT BEAST is all I needed to know to persuade me that this album was worth pursuing. Henley's got a gift for coupling good music with clever lyrics, and he sings clearly enough that I don't have trouble following what he's saying. (Which means, of course, that the arrangements aren't drowning out the vocals with percussion, a plus.)
