Eight years after Cobain's death, Kris Noveselic, David Grohl, and Courtney Love finally mange come to some sort of agreement and release NIRVANA, which is a greatest hits compilation. The biggest news about NIRVANA is its inclusion of "You Know You're Right," which is the last studio song Nirvana recorded. This is an excellent song, though why they open the record with it is beyond me. It should have been at the end, because the rest of NIRVANA is sequenced chronologically.
The problem with NIRVANA is, with only having three albums and a large number of b-sides to draw from, it still misses the boat. Courtney Love made it pretty obvious she wanted a hit album like The Beatles' ONE record. The Beatles had a very large number of hit singles. ... Read More:

Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam seems to get a lot of stick from reviewers here for this record.

I actually quite like it. It might not be their best album, but it ís a good one.
Ok, there are a few crap songs on it, like "unemployable"(the opening riff is directly lifted from "driver's seat" by REO speedwagon - no attempt to hide this misdemeanor!) and "army reserve"(Eddie's voice strains beyond artistic expression to become merely unpleasant, ugly, and possibly damaging to the ears). And, yes, there are a few forgettable songs on it as well:"Big Wave" and "Gone"( and "Wasted Reprise" - but this is forgivable: it is a gimmick).
But, hey, don't most albums contain a few duds?

This Is One Of The First I Bought (back in 2002) and ive enjoyed it since
there is nothing like the nice guitar intro to shinobivsdragoninja (thinks thats an anime inspired song name) and closing riff to ode to summer every song dosent disapoint as they try hard to battle all the american bands emerging at the time they do one hell of a job at it as they play some of the craziest riffs ive heard in a long time all 11 tracks (i have the original) keep the upbeat instruments going and as they keep bashing the tunes it leaves you wanting more
great debut disapointing newer albums

Yourself Or Someone Like You

I'm not really one for writing reviews, but I just have to say that this is one of only a handful of records that i've listened to in my life, that has actually stopped me in my tracks. The first time I heard it, I just had one thought - simply "What a great album!" You'll find meaning in every track and the delivery will leave you wanting more. There have been a lot of great, seminal albums in our time, but this is one of the most understated and unsung. But hey, don't take my word for it, just listen for yourself!

E's throw aways are a damn site better than a lot of band's first choice material. Haven't stopped listening to this album, all 30 songs of it, since I bought it 3 months ago. Probably one for diehard Eels fans though. Some real gems buried in there.

This album is good. It features the best song Blink 182 have ever made; "I Miss you". This song has perfect pacing and metaphorical lyrics with deeper meanings. You MUST hear this song before you die. Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge both work together very well on this song; their voices contrasting perfectly.

The rest of the album is a little bit shaky. Some of the songs are great whearas some are bland and forgettable. "Violence" has a pointless intro and a questionable layout but features an excellent chrous which more than makes up for the errors in the song. It's a fun song but is it excellent? I'm not sure.

"Down" is a good song and was released as a single. It has a good chorus, but what makes the song great is the excellent conclusin to each ... Read More:

I had only heard Feeder on Gran Turismo 3 before and loved the music, but then I sold it and could no longer listen to Buck Rogers, Seven Days in the Sun and my personal favourite-Just a Day.

When I saw this CD advertised I thought this is definetly one to add to my collection, and boy what an album. From the start with Come Back Around right to the end with Suffocate there isn't a track you will want to skip half way through.

From quite heavy Rock songs like Insomnia and Buck Rogers to more gentle ones like Tender and Tumble and Fall there is a perfect blend and mix. The DVD that comes with it is great too and complements the CD well.

If you like Feeder or you like Indie/Rock music you will love this album

I first heard the song Wish on Tony Hawks 3 and i knew i had to have the song and the album. I soon got the album and i havnt been able to stop listening to it since.

All the songs are in my opinoin fantastic, they are all powerful and sung with lots of emotion and vigour. Im a fan of rock music and this album has loud and strong metal chords in spades!

The songs like Flesh and Bone, Summer and Stranded are superb, there are also some hits like Smooth Criminal and Movies which you may have heard of already.

This album is a must have for anyone in posession of a CD player and a good pair of ears. It is one of my all time favourite CDs and is one i can just sit and listen to all the way through. anyone who is interested in metal music should add this to their ... Read More:

By far the most commercially viable of all The Offspring releases to date. Album 5 continues (where Ix Nay started) to soften the raw sound of Dexter Holland's voice and Kevin Wasserman's Guitars, and while Holland's voice is still slightly ear grating, and very prominent in the mix, Americana is a departure from their rough furious jagged punk days.

Americana is also the first Offspring record that is geared towards singles, featuring a slew of radio friendly hits of the likes of "Pretty fly (for a white guy)", "The kids aren't alright" and "Why don't you get a job?", that will take anyone like me (who got into music through the Green Day / Sun 41 punk rock revival in the late 90s and early 00s) right back to those days.
