It's hard to describe why this is not great, but i am going to try as it seems to be a rule on Amazon to only review items you like. I have a copy of Slang, which I like, and i thought i would go back to the beginning and work through the albums in chronological order (which works for me normally) but after this, i won't be bothering with the rest. It's just not very good.

This album contains all Alice Cooper's big hits from the 1970s. If you were around then, they won't need any introduction to you, and if you liked them you will enjoy this collection.
My only grumble is that the sound quality is quite poor - very muffled in places. I have a vinyl version of this album (bought when it first came out) which I have recently transferred to a home-made CD. I wasn't happy with the sound quality and I thought it because it came from an old LP, So, I bought this CD, but the quality of this bought CD is not noticeably better.

I really like this album, it's a natural successor to the brilliant 'Sweet Freedom' which was a hard act to follow but I think that it does it very well.
Just how I like it.. nice and heavy with lots of special moments not least with the title track which is one of my favourite Heep tunes, a great melody which sticks in your mind and I often find myself humming it for no reason at all. 'Suicidal Man', 'So Tired', 'Something or Nothing' and 'We got We' are all great rockers, well played and produced but (agreeing with the previous reviewer) the star of the show has to be 'I Won't Mind' - a fabulous track full of Heep delights like slide guitar, heavy wah wah solo and some great singing from David Byron.
Gary Thain's bass playing really stands out ... Read More:

I'm not a big fan of Aerosmith or 'best of' albums for that matter, but this one's pretty decent and is the only Aerosmith one in my collection. It probably has most of their classics on, 'Cryin', Livin' On The Edge', 'Dude Looks Like A Lady' etc. I'm not sure why there has to be a live track on the end though, surley they could have put another track that wasn't already on the album instead? Still, a good introduction to Aerosmith if you don't know them very well.

As I remember, this album came out at the start of the summer school holidays of 1972, so didn't cause the classroom revolution that it might have. (We'd have to wait for 'The Wall' for that.) A 13-year-old at the time, I bought the cassette version, because all I had was a mono Philips cassette 'corder'. Even at its maximum volume of '5', I could barely hear it the other side of my bedroom, so my personal rebellion went largely unnoticed.
I never saw Alice in concert, but you could tell from the start that this was theatre rock par excellence. For me, Alice sits somewhere between Arthur Brown (both his Crazy World and Kingdom Come incarnations) and the markedly inferior Alex Harvey Band. Allegedly the Alice Cooper band could barely play its instruments ... Read More:

Original lead guitarist Joe Perry re-joined Aerosmith in 1985, and this album marked the beginning of their hugely succesful late-eighties comeback. It didn't get nearly as much attention as "Pump" or even "Permanent Vacation", partly because it lacks the obvious pop hit, I suppose, but it is actually a very solid hard rock record, perhaps Aerosmith's best since "Rocks".
The production is excellent, the riffs are big and dirty, the arrangements lean and mean, and "Mirrors" opens with one of Aerosmith's best songs of the 80s, the high-energy "Let The Music Do The Talking". Other highlights include the funky, mid-tempo swagger of "Shame On You", the wonderfully titled groove of "The Reason A Dog", and the gritty, riff-driven two-guitar onslaught of "My Fist Your Face", ... If not their best, certainly the heaviest - with a hard as iron production, noticeably heavier drumming and some strong riffs and full on metal lead breaks. Even the keyboards duel with the shredding on the title track!
Highlights:
Thunder & Lightning - Very fast for this band, with great drums & awesome solo's. Lynnott's on real form, voice & bass wise here!
This Is The One - Great rhythm and chorus. Addictive!
Cold Sweat - Another heavy one, up there with Killer On The Loose! A guitar riff very worthy of the mighty Judas Priest!
Bad Habits - a bit lighter, with a great vocal from Lynott.
Metal fans will find a lot of Lizzy too light, but many will like this for it's extra edge & power (especially for 1983). It's not surprising Metallica ... Read More:

well... amazing...
i got it from amazon, came with bubble rap and invoice,
great condition
the music is stunning
he captured teh essence of renaissance, middle ages, 1600's music so met
the album isnt too short, its only 8 tracks a couple being around 6 to 8 minutes long
what i didnt like was teh lack of bass guitar sound in teh back ground, it kinda left out some effects, but i turned teh bass boost on, which helped.
the sogn with singing
... wellll
theyre ok, the riffs do sound like neo clasical/speed metal
and teh signign is loud and high pitched
but it seems they stuggled with the melody goign with teh lyrics.
but apart from this
this album will make you gasp
will make you rage
will make you ... Read More:

I cant speak for every Thunder fan but I think that this one of the best albums the band has made. The reason it's so good is because the quality of the material is just as good as the previous Thunder albums Backstreet Symphony,& Laughing on Judgement Day. Luke Morley shines on Behind Closed Doors because he is not only an good guitarist but he is a excellent songwriter. Songs like Future Train, Till The River Runs Dry (which is a true story written about domestic abuse) Too Scared To Live & Preaching From A Chair are superbly written. There are so many good songs on here such as the live favourite River Of Pain, Ball & Chain, Stand Up, I'll Be Waiting, & Castles In The Sand. The only weakness on this album for me is Fly On The Wall which sounds incredibly naff, but apart from that it is a superb album. ... Read More:
