well... amazing...
i got it from amazon, came with bubble rap and invoice,
great condition
the music is stunning
he captured teh essence of renaissance, middle ages, 1600's music so met
the album isnt too short, its only 8 tracks a couple being around 6 to 8 minutes long
what i didnt like was teh lack of bass guitar sound in teh back ground, it kinda left out some effects, but i turned teh bass boost on, which helped.
the sogn with singing
... wellll
theyre ok, the riffs do sound like neo clasical/speed metal
and teh signign is loud and high pitched
but it seems they stuggled with the melody goign with teh lyrics.

I really don't know why it's taken me so long to buy this album, this is without doubt Jon Bon Jovi's best solo CD.
I don't think that I can add anything new that the other reviewers havn't already said because this really is a brilliant album.
My favorite tracks are "Blaze Of Glory", "Billy Get Your Guns", "Dyin' Ain't Much Of A Living" and "Never Say Die".
Don't wait for as long as I did, buy this incrediable rock gem today!

Some really great songs and an album that's encouraged me to order more of their CDs.

The remastered CDs have a red ring around the outside of the front of the disc so if you're buying this one make sure you're not being ripped off.
I've been a Bon Jovi fan for a long time now and this is my all time favorite album. It's their best of the early period, without doubt. Got some romancing songs, the good ol' power ballads, and some fun stuff. Top album.
Release Date March 02, 1998
The songs aren't too bad, in fact a couple of them are excellent (Stop The World & Decadence Dance) but the problems are thus: the band just don't sound like they mean it, there is no conviction in their vocals or harmonies. They're brilliant musicians but lacking in that X Factor. Secondly, the production is TERRIBLE. It's a horribly bright album with piercing treble which is really fatiguing to listen to, even at low volume. There you have it. A fine set of musicians, the odd good song, a talented guitarist but a hollow end product. Oh, that's if you can bear to listen to it!

When I first bought this album back in 1974 I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. This was the first outing featuring the twin guitar sound of Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham so I expected something different, but I was surprised at how mellow it was. Ok so the band had changed direction before. In the Eric Bell era they went from a folk sound on the first two albums, to a heavier raw sound on Vagabonds so I guess I was anticipating hard rock here, but although it does contain a couple of heavier songs in Sha-La-La and Its Only Money, the guitars are played down somewhat with strings featuring on the title track and Dear Heart. This may have been due to the production of Ron Nevison which the band was allegedly unhappy with. There are also, what appears to ... Read More:

Before the drink and drugs got him Phil was truly a Celtic bard who could romanticise about his absent dad and sing tenderly of the girls he too would leave behind. The poignant theme of the Vagabond and The Orphan runs through the first three albums and Eric Bell's beautiful guitar accentuates the poet's loneliness. Check out the guitar break on 'Honesty Is No Excuse', it's heartstopping. I copied 'Diddy Levine' for a mate of mine who was adopted and he absolutely hated it. It's that good! A true artist who just got farther and farther away from his feelings. This album has a depth to it that, in my opinion, he never recaptured. Amazing.

I can understand why this isn't the most popular Lizzy album: this ain't the Lizzy we're used to and it's a bit folky/ prog-rock.
But I've had this album nearly 20 years now and I still play it due to some outstanding tracks like Sarah (not the late seventies version) and Buffalo Gal.
These songs were re-recorded in edited versions for later albums which cashed in on their chart success, but Thin Lizzy fans won't be disappointed in this unusual, slightly pretentious but highly melodic and enjoyable album.
