Take a large measure of Led Zeppelin, a tablespoon of Hendrix, a teaspoon of Black Sabbath and a pinch of White Stripes and you have Wolfmother. Maybe not terribly original but the nods are respectful. One of the best albums I've heard in a long time. Play loud while wearing velvet loons and lennon glasses.

I love Suzanne Vega - she is probably remembered by her more famous tracks, Luka and Tom's Diner, but her album provides us with a wealth of beautiful, meaningful lyrics and her striking and soulful voice. My favourites tracks are Fancy Poultry/ Ironbound and Language, with beautiful lyrics such as 'if language were liquid, it would be rushing in, instead here we are in a silence more eloquent than any words could ever be'. Lovely album.

I'm being kind with 3 stars for this. Chris Cornell has gradually got worse in my opinion. Soundgarden..pure excellence. Audioslave's debut...brilliant. 2nd album...not bad. 3rd album..sounds a bit tired. Debut solo release..average. Carry on..wish you hadn't Chris. Apart from the Bond theme the rest is poor. Billie Jean covers...what is that all about.

After reading the review about this being a copy protected disc, I wasn't sure whether to buy this album or the original version as I listen to a lot of my music on my mp3 player. I took the risk anyway as others had not mentioned it and am glad I did. Although the disc does say that it is copy protected, I had no trouble playing and ripping it to my pc using media player. It is a brilliant album and also includes a bonus disc which has some really good tracks on too. Do not miss out on this great bargain.

The second album from Alterbridge is great considering the story behind it - after splitting up from sony records (which I thought maybe the end of Alterbridge) they sign with universal & release an album of sheer rock riffage. The album doesn't slow down pace at all (until it gets to the balladic watch over you - which is a great song by the way!).
I have already been promoting the album with friends & so far have gotten thumbs up - I would love 2 see these guys in concert as think this album would sound great being played live - I can only hope the UK record buying public allow themselves time 2 listen to this album as there are songs on this album which could enter the charts - I wont detail them as many others have done in previous reviews - All I ... The Very Best of Nazareth

Nazareth like ther bands before Uriah Heep etc only found themselves the butt of many jokes by the UK press over so many comparisons with other legendary acts before they hit the scene but where warmly appreciated in the US and rest of Europe but this decent best of highlights the emotive tones in Dan McCafferty alcohol nicotened soaked vocals which swings from the rawk to the sensitive as highlighted on bad bad boy and love hurts combined with the effortless guitarsmanship from Jimmy Murrison, steady basslines from Pete Agnew and the effective drumming from the late sweet keeps the band in check which is no surprise they had celebrity fans in Axl Rose who covered hair of the dog for the patchy spaghetti incident album.

my personal Zep favourite....and then you get the rest of this excellent double album for free, what a bargain!!! I bought the original vinyl on the day of release and even now, over 30 years on, I still pick it out of the rack (now on cd) anytime I require a blast of musical genius.

This was the first Nightwish I had heard - I read in many reviews about the last singer and how wonderful she was - personally I really like the sound of this one! I have since bought an earlier album and can't see what all the fuss was about, I could listen to Dark Passion Play over and over - in fact I do, but not the earlier stuff. I guess we all like different sounds, but for me, this album does it.

When Frankenstein wnet grave-robbing and slammed all of his corpses together in an unholy abination, we all thought - 'Wow, that really should never of happened...'
And we were right. It shouldn't. As it turned out, Frankenstien's Monster ripped open many of Frankenstein's family members. So fusion isn't always a good thing.
But with Enter Shikari (Shikari meaning 'hunter' in Japanese) fusion is a good thing. A very good thing, indeed. It should never work; on paper, it sounds... wrong. Rave, dance, metal, hardcore, rock. All slammed together in one genre. This amalgamation seems... unnatural. But it works. And so very well.
The interludes can get a little annoying if your iPod or MP3 is on shuffle; they lull you into a false sense of securtiy - you expect the song to come up that it eases ... Read More:
