These songs alone would have made Eliminator one of ZZ Top's three greatest albums, their embrace of Rock-synths and sequencers make this a blockbuster filled with hits & pure Energy. It's still an excellent ZZ Top album, whether Fans or blues purists alike believe it or not, definitely one of their best, thanks in part to their unflaggingly accurate grooves & timing. Then again, that's part of the album's charm, this is new wave blues-rock,looking as good as the omnipresent convertible on the cover, not really the sort of old-school album blues-rock purists will love or appreciate,But one heck of a fun groove-licious album to rock your sound system to

Having spent the last 30 years being a fan of Springsteen, in all of his various projects, I have returned to this album to see if my initial response was too harsh. Sadly, my first thoughts still hold true today.
Although there are a couple of good tracks (Human Touch, I Wish I Was Blind), there are too many songs that sound like filler, and the two worst tracks of his entire career (57 Channels, Real Man). In fact, Real Man would be the worst song of anyone's career.
Strangely released on the same day as the massively superior Lucky Town, this album has the dubious distinction of being the worst album the great man has ever put his name to.
This was the happiest he had ever been in his personal life; it seems strange that ... Read More:
Hm. I do think other reivewers here are vastly overrating these guys. Good band. Certainly a confident debut album -seem to have a bit more than alot of their emo/hardcore peers. But 'masterpiece'?? Not really.

I'm not a massive fan of punk as i'm more into metal, but my sister and dad are massive fans of the clash so i decided to give this a listen their are some pretty kick ass songs on here the first 6 tracks are wicked and i like Lost in The Supermarket i havn't really listend to this fully my favourite would have to be Hateful i love that song. This is a good album to start off with the clash they are a great band.

Shortly after his first album Young released a rather patchy album that's real claim to fame was the first appearance of Crazy Horse. The voice is more assured than on the opener but that takes away some of the quirkiness that made the opener sound fresher than a rather stodgy offering in which Young seems to be desperately trying to make a niche for himself.

My girlfriend's spending the next month listening to nothing but Neil Young. We have tickets to see him in March, so she thinks it's about time she started acquainting herself with as much of his work as possible before then. I have tons of his records, and know most of them inside out so there's plenty of source material for her to work with. And I think she's doing the right thing.
Last night, as we were about to have dinner, she asked me what my favourite Neil Young album was - with a view to playing it while we ate (and subsequently, while I washed up). I said "Well... Mirror Ball [though I could have said Rust Never Sleeps or Prairie Wind or After the Goldrush or Tonight's the Night...], but don't put that on... let's see what you've got on there."

Their debut was stunning - there's no denying it. Mixing power, fury and at times comic instrumentation and vocals, it was always going to be a hard album to beat. But System have done it. Toxicity is an amazing album.
For those that dismiss Toxicity as 'too commercial' or 'too mainstream'. To make accessible music that still has the power and strength that nearly all of the tracks on this CD have takes a great deal of skill. How to make music sound not only familiar but also brand apsnking new and still like it has something incredibly important to say is the sign of master songwriters. And Toxicity has all of that in bucketloads.
The melodic pain of singles Chop Suey, Toxicity and Aerials counter the deliciously dark and oddly furious anger of Prison Song, Jet ... Read More:

If I could have 1 maiden album, it would be Live After Death. If I could choose an extra, this would be my pick. It's stronger than the first 5 IMO and is interesting. My least favourite is probably The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, which although heavy, is basically just a weaker version of Sea of Madness. As with a best track, it changes on every listen. Overall it'd be Stranger in a Strange Land or Alexander the Great. A few tracks are a bit forgettable (mainly 1 and 8), but those are actually among the best songs here. Epics are never particularly memorable at first. You enjoy them when listening, but once you finish listening to them, you forget everything except awesome. For that reason I won't rate those two songs.

MeatLoaf + Jim Steinman = a must have album!
I'm a huge fan of MeatLoaf and have been for nearly 10 years and hearng this album for the first time blew me away. "Bat 2" blasts along for well over an hour with pure rock genius. Jim Steinman's song writing really works well with MeatLoaf's style of singing.
It's a worthy following to "Bat 1" so-much-so that it won a grammy!
If you're a MeatLoaf fan you would be mad not have this in your collection. If you're not...you don't know what you've been missing all this time!!
