I bought this album when i was in Cornwall in 2001 and i listened to nothing else the whole time i was there. It really surprised me just how good it is especially as not being a great fan of radio friendly American rock. Every song is a winner, with the opening blast of "Hanging by a Moment" and the last track, the gorgeous "Everything" being my standouts.
Release Date April 16, 2007
Porcupine Tree's strength has always been their ability to reivent themselves and push themselves in new creative directions. In my opinion, they have been lingering within the rock/metal genre for a bit too long now. Fear Of A Blank Planet still boasts some interesting music, but nothing substantial that has not been extensively explored on the previous 2 albums. To me, this album sounds like a collection of songs rejected from In Absentia and Deadwing, which is still a relatively high standard but sounds slightly exhausted.
Release Date August 11, 2003
After reading the review about this being a copy protected disc, I wasn't sure whether to buy this album or the original version as I listen to a lot of my music on my mp3 player. I took the risk anyway as others had not mentioned it and am glad I did. Although the disc does say that it is copy protected, I had no trouble playing and ripping it to my pc using media player. It is a brilliant album and also includes a bonus disc which has some really good tracks on too. Do not miss out on this great bargain.

Take a large measure of Led Zeppelin, a tablespoon of Hendrix, a teaspoon of Black Sabbath and a pinch of White Stripes and you have Wolfmother. Maybe not terribly original but the nods are respectful. One of the best albums I've heard in a long time. Play loud while wearing velvet loons and lennon glasses.

After hearing Backstreet Symphony on the radio I decided to give this band a try, with a name like Thunder and the band being unknown to me at the time, I thought this song would probably be the only great song on the disc with a mix of good and average songs, like most albums, but thought I`d give them a shot - How wrong was I!
The CD was put in my CD player and didn't come out for a good week - no - it was a great week! Every song is simply amazing and the more you listen, the better it gets. The album is full of head bobbing, air punching, classic rock riffs that could turn a funeral into a party, mixed with a few epic ballad type tracks, the amazing Love Walked In and Until My Dying Day along with a dash of humour from Englishman ... If this is the best then what's the worst like? Brilliant musicianship ruined by inane lyrics. Gets two stars by virtue of 'Don't Fear The Reaper.'
Release Date March 20, 1999
This is one of the most under rated musicals of all, sure there are some songs that i would remove..But i think thats true of most musical these days. People didnt like it cause it didnt have a happy ending, EVEN BETTER!
I wont send roses is a classic but there are others in the album like BIG TIME..and Tap Your Troubles Away, that you dont hear enough off, this should be performed more.
Release Date May 20, 2008
If you read the other reviews posted here you might be put off - but don't be. I've had this album for a few months; picking it up in the States before it's UK release and trust me, its a slow burner. Whilst many of the tracks don't have the instant appeal of their earlier hits, they soon grow on you. I think its a fine addition to their growing body of high class rock.
Release Date January 28, 2008
I first heard Alestorm over a year ago when they called themselves Battleheart and I instantly loved their music. 'Wenches and Mead' and 'Nancy the Tavern Wench' are regular drinking anthems for myself and rum swigging friends.
Following in the footsteps of Running Wild, Alestorm have put a huge spotlight on Pirate Metal for a host of new fans.
This is an awesome album and I'm can't wait for the follow-up!

A brilliant conconction of music, love it, love it, love it! Takes me right back to St.Ives in Cornwall sitting on the harbour wall with all the other hippies, thinking I was so cool and listening to She Sells Sanctuary blasting out from the pub opposite - oh to have that time all over again.....
