This is an excellent album from the Priest! They are a band that have never been afraid of trying something a little different whilst never selling out their love of Heavy Metal or shred guitar solos.The songs are catchy and melodic. Some of the songs are short acting as intros to longer pieces. This is a real epic, moody and atmospheric piece of work. My personal favourites are the title track (which sounds like it could have been written for the painkiller album), prophecy, Alone and the excellent Revelation. This is an excellent album that I highly recommend.

If I had to burn my rock CD collection but were aloud to keep a handful, I know that Meatloaf's "Bat Out Of Hell" would be one of albums that i'd save straight away.
This album is just pure genius and one cannon't fail to be surprised when knowing that it's still a bestseller even today, three decades after it was first released.
Awesome songs, awesome album, do yourself a favour and buy it!

We Are Scientists are a New York-based three-piece that released their debut album "With Love and Squalor" in 2005. As their name suggests, they look and talk like nerds. However, We Are Scientists do know how to pen songs that should prove strong commercial hits, as they cash in on the current vogue for post-punk songs that get you up on your feet and rocking.

The album clocks in at a pretty fast 12 tracks in 37 minutes and does not pause for breath at the start until the fourth track "Can't Lose". The record is heavily guitar-laden, with nearly all of the tracks containing hooks that are well worth hearing. Separation Sunday

This is an album that has a lot going for it, and is something slightly different that attracts me to it. As an entire album it is sublime, each track leads into another convincingly. Definitely an album and band that is very easy to fall in love with and for me the best of The Hold Steady's 3 albums to be introduced to.

I'm afraid that, having bought this recently in reliance on the reviews on this site, ripped it to my MP3 Player, and listened to it over several tube journeys, I am disappointed. The whole thing lacks the bite, attack and energy of the earlier "If you Want Blood....." It's all too polite, too well mannered, and too well produced, - almost bland. I'm going to give it an airing on the stereo over the weekend, but unless the wider sound afforded here adds something truly extra, this one may well be taking a trip over the the Record Exchange in Camden to be traded in. Is this just the difference between the Bonn Scott era band and the later version, or a touch of over production?

Quadrophenia

It's hard to believe that this album manages to maintain the standard set by Who's next which is very possibly the greatest rock n' roll album of all time. The album features some of the Who's best songs including The Real Me, 5.15 and love reign o'er me. However this is not all and there is not a single dissappointing song throughout the album including other tracks like Quadrophenia, Sea and Sand, The Punk and the Godfather as well as Bell Boy.

The band members are arguabely at their best in Quadrophenia. Moons performance on The Real Me is one of his best, up there with Who Are You and Wont Get Fooled Again. Townshends song writing is just inspiring, Entwistle is also outstanding throughout and in my opinion this is Daltrey's best album.

Up until fairly recently, the only Lynyrd Skynyrd songs I knew were Freebird and Sweet Home Alabama. However, after hearing some of their other songs played on Planet Rock, I purchased this album.

It's bowled me over. Yes, it could be better packaged, but the music is terrific. Wonderful southern ,laid back, witty southern rock.

I can't come down too hard on this one because I'm afraid I'm not passionate about this kind of music anymore. As the years have passed, and as I've moved on to other types of music and other bands it's become rather too easy to appear smug and pompous in my opinions of the music known as grunge, the music that frankly coloured most of my tastes from age 15-20, but that now seems self-indulgent and humourless.

I had wanted the Temple of the Dog album for many years, but I didn't get it until recently. Once a girl in a club told me she was going to bring a tape of if in, and leave it behind the bar - all I had to do was go back and ask for it. I never did.
