Hmmmmm, Whats with this massive hype eh? Sure the music is excellent but the vocals? Man do they get annoying. I thought their newest album the blackening was awesome, so i downloaded this album whats all the fuss about? Seriously?. The vocals in my opinion are what ruins this album. If this was instrumental then it would kick ass but sadly Rob Flynn had to sing wait singing? where is that?. Overall this albums alright not as good as the hype suggests. I'm sticking Slayer!!!!!!!!
Release Date August 20, 2001
This is a throbbing beast of an album. Tight enough to define it and loose enough to excite. An awesome live album, full of atmosphere. Some may prefer Turner, some may prefer Brock, but this is solid Hawkwind and they all shine. If you want to check out this group then this is a must. Put on the headphones, immerse, escape and absorb.
Release Date November 01, 2004
This really is a great dvd. It covers everything from the very beginnings of Iron Maiden up until the Number of the Beast album.
Part 2 (which I've be waiting for over 3 years for!) is on the recently released Live After Death dvd.

Soundgarden's last gasp produced a classic rock album, that fits both as the natural progression of the band's sound, and as a standalone rock album that would attract a new audience. Down on the Upside is Soundgarden's most mature album and sees them make the final move away from their grunge roots.
What first strikes the listener, is the way the sound had been expanded from Superunknown, into a grander, more apocalyptic sonic landscape. Gone are most of the sludgy guitars and the chaos of their earlier days, and on the opener "Pretty Noose", the climactic tone is set. Slow mover "Rhinosaur" breaks spontaneously into a torrent of guitar soloing and madness - an indication that the band still have the capacity to surprise.

An amazing debut album. Travis, Radiohead, Coldplay.....classed as wonders of the modern industry, while 10 years or so ago, an energetic Scottish band broke onto the scene and as fast as they were to appear popular, they were gone. Although they still produce, WORLD was there finest and even still to this day SHAME ON YOU beats and strums in my ears. Im older, wiser and for a time I forgot. But listen again and wonder why they were not bigger. Simple as that.

This album is really bad. I've tried to like it. I've had it for years and every so often I go back and listen to it. Even the Rolling Stones cover is awful. Maggie's Farm is probably the only song on here that I like, and by like I mean it'd get 3 stars. But the rest of the album is just unimaginitive and technically mediocre. I woulnd't give it a 1 star, that'd be unfair. I do like quite a lot of the RATM music that I hear, but this album was clearly in the sale section all those years ago for a very good reason. They must have run out of good ideas earlier on in their career, which is a shame. If I wanted to listen to something similar I'd just go with Faith No More and never look back.

This is the Iron Maiden album that divided the fans, there bound to be at least one album of every band that does that. Sadly I wasn't there when Iron Maiden & Heavy Metal bursted fastly into the 80s when music was creative exciting and sometimes brutal etc Slayer. I've been an Iron Maiden fan since 2006(i'm only 17) and I have all Iron Maiden albums, a couple of the live ones(surprisingly not "Live After Death" will get it soon). I first bought Iron Maiden latest album "A Matter Of Life And Death" out of luck which to be honest blew me away, after that I bought their whole back catalogue and love every one of their albums. In my opinion their weakest albums are "The X Factor" & "Virtual XI" still great albums(to me) but lack the sheer brilliance and ... Read More:

even though it was stated as new release for 2008 Deep Purple's best of is merely the same compilation that was released ten years ago as i came across it in co-op so don't be fooled by the release date as there is nothing new on this dissappointing best of.

I guess the main thing I want to say about this is that the story to Something Wicked Part 2, which hasn't been mentioned in much detail by any of the other reviewers so far, was really disappointing for me after the first part. There was quite a lot of detail in the first part of the story, with thousands of years passing, the idea that Man are in fact aliens who invaded the planet but were brainwashed by the otherwise-defeated native Setians in preparation for the coming of a chosen one, Set Abominae, who would exact the revenge of the Setians on Man. Basically, a lot happened. The lyrics themselves, when read from the CD booklet to the music as you listen, provided an interesting experience where, rarely for concept albums, it was detailed enough to follow the plot without ... Thin lizzys eighth album is a laid back album in parts,a relexed, self assured piece of work with a rock n blues formula running through it.
The album opens with the brilliant 'soldier of fortune' with a delicious riff raking through it,scott gorham whips his guiatr skills into a frenzy here and lynotts bass plucks like a madman, lynotts vocals here and throughout are very mellow and enchanting, trapping the listener with their authority and almost storylike formula.
The title track hurtles in next with some great drive in the riff and the drum playing here is excellent, brian downey is a skilled player and this is his masterpiece, the song is class as well.A very autobiographical song follows in 'Opium trail' which is about well, the title says it all, this song sends shivers dancing ...
