Well this is kind of a hard one to review as i only listend to it twice and it may grow on me soon. The best track by far is Fuel no doubt about. It's just something is missing from this album which made all other Metallica album awesome. I dont know what it is maybe it's lack of passion for the music i have no idea. The best songs other then Fuel are The Memory Remains, The Unforgiven II, Carpe Diem Baby(wicked chorus) & Attitude. Those are the only songs i think are awesome at the moment. Devil Dance is ok but something about it annoys me. I thought Load was absolutely amazing same with St. Anger, I dont know why but i just dont think this album aint that great. If you want a change here it is. Metallica grew up and tried something different. You hear alot of metalligeeks (they are the narrow minded fans who want complex thrash metal - very original eh!) claim this album is terrible, metallica sucked from this album on blah blah blah...

Truth be told, this album is great. It's a fine mix between heavy metal and the blues. The riffs and songs in general are more in line with the Black Album but it has abit more variety.

The tempo for most of the songs are mostly mid tempo, which can drag abit but if you're like me who love some AC/DC or any of that classic heavy stuff then it's right down your road.

Don't expect any "thrashing" classics, just some great mid tempo heavy metal. ... Read More:

Now while many say that Rages best record was the unstoppably furious debut, this is their true masterpiece. Its the sound of a more intelligent and focused band embracing raw experimental sounds. Now while the album is known for its stomping hits (Testify, Guerilla Radio and Sleep now in the fire) its actually on many of the hidden gems on this album that rage hits on to something. For example the exellent album tracks Born of a Broken Man, where rage fuse the time signatures of Led Zeppelin and the *Loud-Quiet* dynamics of many grunge and prog bands, coupled with Zachs poetry and Tom Morellos achingly sad riff produce one of the bands greatest songs. I took a chance on this album in the first week of it's release and I still think it's the best pyschedelic rock album of the 90's. The singles such as "Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" and "Monsters in the Parasol" are absolutely timeless, "Monsters.." being hilarious as well as genius! The album tracks are just...well mindblowing! "Auto Pilot" and "Better Living Through Chemistry" compliment each other superbly, listening to both those tracks while under the influence is a treat (get some good headphones to hear the voices!). A shame Nick has now left, will they top it with their newie, "Lullabies to Paralyse"? Doubt it, but with the Queens, anything is possible.

An average AC/DC album ? The man has no idea what he's talking about.

Powerage, for all the reasons pointed out in other comments here, is not only AC/DC's finest effort but one of the mightiest rock albums ever committed to vinyl/CD etc.

I have two vinyl copies because I wore the first one out ! Can't say that about Highway to Hell.

Fantastic dirty guitar sounds & no fillers. No wonder the punks had a soft spot for these boys ....

This album is bloody awesome. This is the start of Iron Maiden the great and they only got better and better. Here we have the vocalist Paul Di'ianno who was before one of the greatest vocalist of all time Bruce Dickinson. Paul Dianno is a really good vocalist. My favourite songs are Sanctuary, Running Free, Remember Tommorow, Phantom Of The Opera(amazing), Strange World(which sounds so much like Rainbows Catch The Rainbow) & the classic title song Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden's first 2 albums are occansionaly overlooked because of iron maidens masterpiece The Number Of The Beast but they are damn good albums. This is a great for maiden fans, new maiden fans buy The Number Of The Beast. UP THE IRONS!!!!!

Overbearing !
Its white, and plenty of references to the trouser snake !
Overall a great package for all c*£! rock fans, this compilation plucks the best of David Coverdales post Deep Purple band with a bit of covaredale and page for good measure.
Fans of cliched rock rejoice in over three hours of music coving 30 years.

All hail the king, baby. Max is back. When people thought this album's predecessor 'Dark Ages' was a return to form since their self titled debut, they were wrong. This is definitely the new king of the hill as far as Soulfly albums go. With less experimental breaks and more heavy, thrash and a bit more heavy, this is a must!!

Stand out tracks are 'Conquer', 'For Those About to Rot' and opener 'Blood Fire War Hate' it is relentless, classic Soulfly from start to finish.

Bring on their Bloodstock and mini tour next week, I sure as hell can't wait.

All Iron Maiden albums from "The Number Of The Beast" to "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son" are absolute classics and timeless masterpieces. I grew up listening to these records, and I know every lyric, every pause, every guitar tone and every tempo change by heart. So, more than sad, I'm really angry to have to say that all the "enhanced" 1998 releases are complete sonic disasters, "loudness war" productions with the audio dynamic range slaughtered by whoever was responsible for doing the remastering. It seems that the idea was to turn all the way up the sound of every single instrument and vocal line with no regard to the equilibrium between them within the music's context.
