I've heard a lot about 'production' and how lyrics being negative doesn't matter but this LP proves how good the original ideas behind hip-hop still are and also that you don't need to rhyme negatively to be relevant. This is all about fitting each beat with each word, still not having to be too serious about yourself and just loving the sounds which we can create and doing it all for the enjoyment, the idea behind hip-hop for me.

This is an amazing cd/dvd, combines the best parts of both artist's work amazingly blended. The only problem is the shortness of the music, because its obviously time consuming to mix these songs. But other than that a great selection of songs which work so well together. Most of the songs are timeless classics.

This album is certainly not one of the Kid's best efforts. After the sucess of the Devil Without a Cause album, it seems something deserted him here. I like Kid Rock but this album isn't his best. The only tracks I really liked were American Bad Ass, Early Morning Stoned Pimp and 3 Sheets to the Wind, the rest of the album isn't very good, and I would recommend leaving this be and getting his first album or his more recent album Cocky instead.

Don't get me wrong, the singles from this are fantastic (Killing me softly, Ready or not, etc), so buying it on the strength of those seemed like a bit of a no-brainer. How wrong I was. Apart from The Mask, the rest of the tracks are pretty poor and the talky bits between them only suceed in annoying the listener.
I'm all for a bit of swearing when it's appropriate, but it just seemed to be for the sake of it. As for the track Mista Mista, couldn't quite figure out if it was serious or not. I'll leave that decision to someone else. I paid 1p for the CD second hand, so I guess it was worth it for the singles!

I bought this album because I love With Every Heartbeat and Handle Me but I am a bit disappointed because most of the other tracks are a bit boring in my opinion and are rap more than pop/dance music. When I listen to it now I tend to play the same 4 tracks over and over again.

The first annoyance is that all the tracks are mixed. Now this isn't surprising as it's what you got on the original 80's Electro's. Only problem is that the mixing on the originals was smooth and actually added a quality to the album. I still remember an excellent transition between Chris the Glove Taylor's Itchiban Scratch to the B Boys Stick up Kid (Street Sounds Electro 7) and that was over 20 years ago (Yes I feel old - but I was at school). On this compilation the tracks seem to have been scratched-mixed in a hurry. Why scratch the beginning of Rockit when the beginning is a scratch???? Some of the scratching also puts the tracks out of time and seems misplaced at times.
Next problem is the length of the tracks. Fitting 24 on each CD can't be done if ... Read More:

Excellent album and a must-have for any hip hop and/or clan fan. Familiar but with something different that makes it an excellent addition to any collection.
