Undoubtedly, Morning View is Incubus's finest work.
Encompassing a varied range of musical styles from previous efforts, Morning View includes hard hitting, riff filled fury through the likes of "Circles", right through to the powerfully mellowed "11am".

Of the five singles taken from the album are the eternal classics "Wish You Were Here" and "Are You In". Hardly a rocker doesn't know the words and tune to Wish You Were Here, and the refreshingly, jazzily different "Are You In" certainly merits a place on the album. However I can't help but feel that these two songs are only the classics they are because of the majority of the fan base... (I suppose that only makes sense ;))

Alongside KoRn, Limp Bizkit deserve either the credit or the blame for starting the nu-metal craze that dominated music in the late nineties and early noughties. Blending rap and metal in a much more clumsy way than KoRn did, they've gone multi-platinum many times and are mostly remembered for two things: Fred Durst and that album about the Hot Dogs.

But going on Greatest Hitz, Limp Bizkit weren't nearly as bad as people imply. Fred Durst, admittedly, is probably one of the worst frontmen of all time. If you can't ignore that, then you need to ignore this record and all of their other ones. Well, he's back! RIP to little man Joe C. This album is dedicated to the memory of Joe C, and Kid Rock mentions him in the first track Trucker Anthem. I think he expresses a lot of points in this album, things he done, said, been through, some of which is anger. As you listen to the album you will feel the hardcore guitar and pumping bass, especially when you decide to put it in your car stereo. It's all cocky, til you hit Picture. You hear something different, making sure its the right cd in the machine, man you hear that Kid Rock can sing and does he do it well, cocky enough he does. Country music maybe his next journey, because this is one album worth buying.

This is a hip-hop masterpeice by Talib Kweli. He is a master of his craft and has produced a slick and intelligent album. My personal favourite tracks are Love Language & Good Mourning but almost every track is a joy to listen to.

If you enjoy genuine hip-hop, get this album. If you are new to hip-hop, get this album. If you enjoy music in all its beautiful forms, get this album.

Modern day rap is something that, in my opinion , has been bred from the whole egotistical and mass of abusive songs that came from the early 90's. Big Daddy Kane is, ofcourse, an exception from most of this scene, but there is no doubt that modern day 'gangsta-rap' is heavily influenced from this scene. The less offensive, more casually and laid back 'rap' was often left oiut the mainstream equation, with the afore mentioned Big Daddy Kane and Will Smith leading the way through various sub-genres of hip-hop. Jurassic 5 are, ironically, descendants of this smooth, summer-esque 'beats-and-rhymes' mindset of music. Which, in this day and age, is truly a brilliant thing indeed.

Paid In Full

This is another one of these albums which is rated as an all-time classic, then you listen to it, and wonder what all the fuss is about. Paid In Full isnt even a proper album- its just a collection of singles with some cuts of beats'n'scratches by Eric B to pad it out. There's a few great tracks here- I Know You Got Soul is clearly one of THE classic hip-hop tracks of the era, and Move the Crowd is equally good (although there's a better mix on "Hip Hop Don't Stop vol.2"). The title track's also pretty cool. Otherwise, there's not much else here to justify the album's reputation. Rakim's delivery is smooth, but his lyrics aren't too hot- I'll bet Chuck D wouldn't come up with rhymes like

Once upon a time a sound engineer and a dj/advertising copywriter decided to enter a competition set up by Tommy Boy Records to remix a track called "Play That Beat Mr DJ" by G.L.O.B.E & Whizz Kid (2 members of The Soul Sonic Force) after spending a day at Dee's studio Double Dee & Steinski had their mix they entered the competition with "The Payoff Mix". Not only did they win but in the process changed the way people listened to and thought about hip hop.

This is a brilliant album. Truth be told I never properly listened to the album fully, was always mesmerised by the big tracks, being Rollin', My Generation, My Way, Boiler, Take A Look Around, and by the time I'd over-used them I was on to another album, a Blink 182 or The Offspring album. So I missed a full album of good songs, bar 2 songs, Livin' It Up and Hold On(plus the Intro and Outro, but they don't really count). This is the sort of music I miss, the sort of music that got me into Rock music(I think Rollin' was one of the first rock songs I heard on the radio before I delved into the "rock scene"). I'm not a fan of slipknot so a couple of years ago i decided to check this one out i couldnt see why everyone said slipknot were soo great. Yes there are few great tracks e.g Opium Of People, The Blisters Exists, Pulse Of maggots & Before I forget. But over the years it has grown on me so yes i like alot more. I'm more into old school metal then nu-metal. I might check out their older albums to see what their like. Overall this is a really good talented musicians and Corey Taylor is an amazing vocalist. It's just they are so overrated i know thats not a good reason to not like a band but it does get annoying hopefully i'll like their older stuff.
