When I was about 15 I used to really like Korn, but as with most things I liked at that time I gradually grew out of it. A couple of months ago however I decided to pick up a copy of follow the leader and give it another chance, I mean I used to love it when I was 15 so it can't be that bad surely? Well I have to say that I was somewhat surprised at what it felt like to be listening to Korn again with what I'd like to think are more refined tastes. I was struck by how different Korn's sound actually was to the rest of the bands around at that time, all the rap/nu-metal bands seem in retrospect completely devoid of imagination, but Korn's music is still surprisingly fresh 8 years later. I listen to this cd when I want to hear something that's light,lively and beautifully sung.It has the added bonus of sounding original too.
All the tracks are good.I don't know what style of music they represent
or where she gets her inspiration from but she sounds like someone having fun while she's singing.Great stuff.

They showed they could chill us out and take us to that higher place, now they've shown us they can make us move. I'd say its the perfect balance of social comment, funk, spiritualism and everything else that makes music great. The best track has got to be Humble Mumble (shame Erykah Badu only seems to not be annoying when she's backing someone up, another example being 'Baby You got Me - The Roots'.
All in all a shit hot album...Different...But hot.

Without experimentation where would we be? It's not ATLiens but it's not supposed to be. They showed they could chill us out and take us to that higher place, now they've shown us they can make us move. I'd say its the perfect balance of social comment, funk, spiritualism and everything else that makes music great. It is wonderful to have a WHOLE listenable album of amazingly well crafted, chilled, sophisticated music by one group.

I just love this album, Lebanese Blonde is one of the best chill out tunes of all time but there are some other truly great tracks on there.
