As an adult it's a change to listen to something that's slightly different from your normal kids music but as a reggae fan its's utter tosh. There are far far better tracks out there. Save your money & get your kids to listen to some proper music.I can't believe that some of the biggest names in reggae stooped so low

A Very Special Christmas Vol.3

I was very impressed by the first two volumes in the series but this volume, while it has some great tracks, does not match those two although I like this set better now than when I first bought it some years ago.

The highlights for me are I saw three ships (Sting), Blue Christmas (Sheryl Crow), Christmas (Blues traveller), a Gallic version of Silent night (Enya), Santa Claus is back in town (Jonny Lang), Christmas is now drawing near at hand (Steve Winwood) and O holy night (Tracy Chapman). Most of the other tracks are OK but the version of Santa baby included here is definitely not my kind of music. I much prefer Madonna's version, to be found on the first volume in the series, or the original Eartha Kitt version from the fifties. ... Read More:

What can I say about Gangstarr? Nothing that probably hasn't been said before. There are very few albums that you can put on at track 1 and just let it role all the way to the end (Illmatic, Midnight Marauders and Muddy Waters springs to mind) To say Premier creates beats would be an injustice. You could say this for the majority of producers, but this man crafts his beats. From the excellent samples, to the now legendary cuts, and the dope mixing. Most producers sample George Clinton, Barry White or James Brown, put some wack drums over it and assume it's dope. Not so. With the exception of the footage of the Democratic Convention protest, this DVD tends to focus less on political extras and more on the music. I suppose this would make sense, with the band broken up it would be difficult to arrange documentaries and interviews of the type found in Battle of Mexico City.

A memo should go out to all bands and music DVD producers that says at minimum: "1) Music DVD's should be produced to the highest standards. 2) The musical performances within should represent the talent that made the studio recorded CDs sell. 3) Theatrics are very cool too, as long as you can pull them off without deterioration in the quality of the music."

Lyrics are thoughtful and inspiring with great beats and music

'Be' is a soulful intro that sets tone for rest of album
'Faithful' my fav song on album
'food' catchy with K.West
'its your world' soulful
'real people' sounds like a jazz track, works well though!
'chi city' - cool catchy track

got to get this if you havnt!

Ok so i'm a pretty new ashanti fan. My favourite song is Only U, so i decided I'd give her debut a go,not knowing any songs past Foolish. But I am now a big fan and looking forward to her new album in October. Heres what I think of the album:

1/Intro-I wont give it a rating cos its not really a song, but it plays ashantis work before the album.
2/Foolish-Brilliant!It was no.1 for months in The U.S, and its just...great!10/10
3/Happy-The second single,and a good summer song.8/10
4/Leaving-Love this song,shouldve been a single!Great Chorus 10/10
5/Narrative Call(Skit)- A skit,thats pretty laughable at.
6/Call-Good enough,catchy,but one of the weaker songs.8/10

This collection is perfect both for those of us who don't have a large hip hop collection and for those who'd like a 'greatest hits' style to sing along to in the car!
It has most tracks that you'd want such as 'Jump Around' or 'Push It' as well as the ones you'd forgotten all about such as 'Gangsta's Paradise' or Witness (1 Hope)'
I'd definately recommend it - I've already got one copy and I'm now gonna buy one for a friend cos she keeps borrowing mine!!
