I'd only heard the odd track by Warp's new prodigy Flying Lotus from what i presume were his previous releases, and they gave me the impression that this was an artist with an idea on how to take glitch-hop and turn it into his own 'thing', but didn't have the focus to push it through.

How this album proved me wrong. On reading a couple of positive reviews comparing his to prefuse 73, who is a personal favourite, and claiming that he was 'inspiring a new generation of warp-heads', i bought the album and am thoroughly gratefully i did.

This album has rightly been lauded by just about everyone. It's an incredibly clever and interesting piece of work. The tracks are varied in their feel and attitude, from "thuggish" to thoughtful and reflective. If anything the problem is that West is trying too hard to be all things to all people. He's a thoughtful, reflective soul who believes in Jesus and disapproves of drug use (in principle) but who is also happy to hand out beat-downs, steal and deal drugs (or to do whatever he has to "to get by"). Most rappers are guilty of trying to take the moral high ground while also maintaining their street cred by acting like delinquents, but with many rappers (e.g. Tupac) this seems to be a genuine contradiction (or perhaps a paradox if you want ... Iv been a Game fan since day one,he was the resurrection of the West Coast
he never lets us down,ie going pop!and once again he drops a very solid album,iv been bumping it since i got it,every track is dope part from one(Ya heard)is a little weak but still a good track,I love Games lyrics and the prodution is top notch(j.r rotem/jellyroll/cool&dre who are having a great year/nottz/dj toomp/kanye/hi-tek and scott storch who does an exellent job as always.the whole album is bangin plus on this deluxe edition you get 4 extra tracks,which are all Dope and yes you get the BIG one (Big dreams)which i think should have been on the original version.So pick it up you wont regret it.

What an exceptional sophmore album! I had heard 'Run' on the radio many times, found it to be a really likeable piece of music, so i decided to give the album a chance. I was blown away! It exceeds any of my expectations, and has to be one of my albums of the year. It doesn't have the problem of St. Elsewhere in which one song overshadowed the rest, in fact in contrast I can honestly say that any song on the album could be released as singles, they are all THAT good!

The album starts with the infectious beat of 'charity case', which is a simple song, instantly loveable with its twinkly rhythm.

An average album let down by a very weak production - a few good songs but nothing in the same class as Master Of Puppets or Reign In Blood.
1988's State Of Euphoria & 1990's Persistence Of Time are FAR superior despite lacking the iconic status of this vastly overrated 1987 effort.

Very mid tempo with a tinny drum sound and thin guitars - not this band's finest hour...........

I was in the States when this album came out and it was huge (of course). It's been several years since I listened to it but I have to say it's lost none of its power. Eminem is a warped genius who offends everyone but still manages to endear himselt to everyone at the same time. This was probably the high point of Eminem's career, although some of his later albums are pretty good.

Sadly, despite having its moments, for most of this album delirious? seem to be a band whose day has gone, trying desperately to regain some momentum. Any hope of connecting again with the cultural mainstream in which `King of Fools' and `Mezzamorphis' once so proudly swam seems to have been abandoned with an album aimed squarely at the Christian sub-culture. Many of the songs plod where delirious? once soared and the lyrics confuse where once they inspired. Why is God smiling when our hearts are broken? Does the Spirit really teach us to distance ourselves from the world when we live our dreams and sing a new song?
