I rarely feel the need to post a review on Amazon since they are so quick to get lost amidst the reems of generally positive reviews posted on any item.
But since this album has had so many great reviews i had to stick my thumb out with the simply opinion that this is a really, really bad album.
I wanted to like it, i really did. His debut was rough and enjoyable, and showed plenty of promise. Sadly the production on this album saps the very straightforward and samey tunes of the little hummability they may have had to begin with, and we're left with an overly long, sparse, emotionally devoid album that wouldn't be offensive if it weren't for the obvious fact that he really does seem to think he's making something special ... I hadn't heard of Linkin park until I heard "minutes to midnight" which I thought was an excellent and diverse album; however I got this last weekend and since then have had it blaring in my car constantly. As some of the other reviewers have said, it's really rock, with rap and metal elements, but just very very well done.
"from the inside" and "breaking the habit" are excellent tracks, but the highlight is "Numb", very in the same mould as "What I've done" from the later album, but if anything a sharper track, tighter backing with nicely done, understated scratches that are actually used as another instrument rather than just thrown over the top, and a truly awesome, angry chorus with the tagline "All I want to do, is to be more like ... This is a truly underrated album. At first i hated this album, but as the sensational Radiohead always do, i was sucked in by its brilliance. This album is up their with their best work. From the kick up the arse that is 2+2=5, the dreamy sail to the moon and the simply breathtaking There There this is a top quality album from start to finish. Back drifts also took me several listens, as well as Where I End and You Begin before i realized their greatness. There is something about Radiohead that i cannot put my finger on that sets them apart from any other band. Maybe its their intelligence, their lyrics, their originality, Thom York's insanely good voice or Johnny's magical guitar playing. Im not sure, but they really are in a different league to the bland and ... Read More:

Without making any comparison to the Artic monkeys or any other bands and just listening to this album as what it is its pretty good. The songs that are good on it are really good and the rest just fail below the mark.It starts of great with fast beats and memorable hard tunes for the first five songs then it seriousily lulls till track 8 He said he loved me- (a chavs anthemn to unrequeinted love ). Heavyweight champion is the outstanding song and the other first 5 songs are in a similar vein. However the rest seriousily lull and this is where the album falls down- however in honesty its a failing of many albums nowadays.
There are no great suprises on this album and all the released track songs are the best ones on the albm the others are indeed forgetable. However if you ... Read More:
What with first single - The Only One - and now this, i am really, really looking forward to the new album. Freakshow presents the band on top form, a well-rounded sound that is impossible to resist. Whereas The Only One had a very light, innocent feel Freakshow takes on a more snappy, quirky sound but is equally as successful, packing an incredible amount of energy into just 2 and a half minutes.
The more and more i listen to this song the more i like it, as it at once sounds like the classic Cure we all know and love while updating it with a freshness that shows the band are still very much on top form. B-side All Kinds of Stuff packs that same punky energy, extremely well produced with the guitar-work coming to the fore in an irresistable ... Read More:

Alanis Morissette is a brilliant artist, although Jagged Little Pill has to be her best album to date. With songs such as "Mary Jane" and the famous "Ironic", it's a real sing-along CD which never gets old! A Must-Buy for all music lovers!
Release Date May 12, 2008
i've like the charlies since the late 1980's, although not my most favourite of bands, their stuffs been at times pretty good. Unfortunatley their last album was a load of boring cr*p and i was about to give up on them , but this CD is pretty good, Tims vocals are as weak as ever, sounds like Jagger on a bad day, if Tim was ever that lucky.Back on form, I hope so!

This album is less well recieved than Kid A.Maybe people just couldn't take another "alternitive" Radiohead album so soon after Kid A.The truth is that this is a superb release. The uncomfortable opener(Pakt Like Sardines In A Tin),with its disorted eletronica. Its followed by the sweeping Pyrimad Song. With its dense piano and cascading strings this was a timely reminder of just what Radiohead can do.There are "guitar" songs here too.I Might Be Wrong and Knives Out provide ample riffs.
Perhaps, better then, to reflect on what is not here.If the had approached Like Spinning Plates on record as they do live, when it is stripped down into a song,it would have served this record better.Pulp should not have been allowed anywhere near the studio.
It would be crass not to mention Dollars and Cents, another ... Read More:
