martha wainwright proves on this album that despite all of her vaunted background she is a true original. the songs show great craft, especially BMFA which is perfectly written. and her voice is a wonder. it has the flexibility of mary margaret o'hara's voice and the emotional vastness of jane siberry but is also something completely hers. its really exhilirating the way it can just take off in the middle of a song and go wherever it likes yet still make complete musical sense.
for many years i've been grieving the fact that mary margaret o'hara hasn't been making music but with this album the gap is filled. but she isn't a copycat. like any true talent this musical vision is completely martha's own. and it seems to have sprung ... Read More:

The highlights of this album are great. However,I Can See A Liar, Little James And Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is are far from great.Had they been replaced with some of the B-Sides of the era (One Way Road,Let's All Make Believe, etc) it could have been a great album.

Whatever people tell me about the ramones: i always say that these guys defined punk music. Still today The Jam is a classic band that will always have a place in my album collection. This CD however is overdoing everything. Punk rock albums are usually very short and having to listen to 20 songs that do all sound extremely simmilar can get tedious. More than this I believe that punk bands very designed for live performances: they had a great attitude to live acts which made them amazing to listen to. The CD takes the heart out of this genre and for that i mark it down. Also there are a few songs could have done without.

The first time I ever came across Alanis was when I saw the video for "You Ought Know" on VH1 and loved it instantly! I never know who sang the song until my friend bought this CD and told me that I would love this!
And there's where my love addiction and my obsession for Alanis began! I can't express how much I love this album it is one of my all time favourites and even 13 years on I still listen to this record!
If you don't own this album you are missing out and I can't highly recommend this album enough! Lyrically this one of the best album ever! Alanis is a musical genius here lyrics are very clever, witty and catchy!
I love all the songs on this album and listen all the way through from Track 1 to Track 13 the hidden ... Read More:

The majority of items on this disc are the exact same as the
Eurythmics collection previously released and already a part of many Annie fan's collections.
The tracks are crisp and clear and the re-mastering is evident, Annie's voice front and centre, as it always was.
'I've got a life' - was new to me, I didn't find it as good as anything on the album 'Bare' and whilst powerfully sung I didn't feel it wasn't any new tack for the group.
'I saved the world today' - again, not as good as anything on 'Bare', you get the sense of a message perhaps lost, we know her music does have a lot of saving graces but the world?
Maybe I missed something there.
Some classic items here, 'Thorn in my side', 'Sweet dreams', 'Miracle of love' - ... Read More:

Staind are one of those bands who most remember for one or two songs and nothing more. I think this album will bring them back into the limelight. I have followed their career for the last 5 years and this album stands out as something refreshing, new and really rocking! Yes, I said rocking. Stand out tracks are 'The Way I am' and 'Believe'. Both show off Aaron's awesome voice and Staind's unique sound. This album is less about dirge and more about anthems. I heartily recommend it to both fans of old and those who haven't yet given Staind a chance. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Sheer brilliance, flowing against the tide of pop tripe the continualy fills the airways.
If your a fan of acoustic guitar music, buy this album. Scrap that just buy this album, the only complaint you'll have is ...damn it's finished. At a shade over 30 min's it's short by modern standards.
But don't feel short changed as every track is shimmering with mesmerizing beauty.
The better your system the more wonderful detail you can extract.
Jose plays with a passion that you can feel with each strum.
He may not have earth shattering vocals, but they blend seemlessly and become part of of the whole experience - John Martin fans will appreciate this.
The album has a certain quality that can make you loose yourself in distant thoughts, positive ... Read More:
