I discovered Jason Mraz's music by accident after hearing a sample of it on the internet about 3 years ago and I fell in love with it. He has an amazing voice, writes very clever lyrics and his music really stood out to me from a lot of the other musical dross that's too prevalent nowadays. In particular, I love his album "Mr A-Z" which I think is fantastic and, contrary to what some of the other people who've written reviews here have said about it, I think it's his best album. I was so excited when We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things came out and rushed out to buy it. However, having listened to it a few times now I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with it and it hasn't lived up to my high expectations of his music. He can do a lot ... Read More:

I usually try to be cool, focused and objective in my reviews but, for Laura Marling's debut album, I'll make an exception. 'Cool, focused and objective' can all take a backseat while their more emotional cousin 'dribbly wide-eyed adoration' takes the wheel, puts his foot down and heads for the sunlit hills. "Alas I Cannot Swim" is gorgeous, clever, moving and absolutely packed with the most exquisite melodies. If there has been a better album released in the past twelve months then, well, I for one haven't heard it.
Absolutely everything works in harmony on this album. The lyrics are dark, inventive ("He wants to die in a lake in Geneva/The mountains can cover the shape of his nose") and haunting, focusing on the impossibility of everlasting ... Read More:

The idea of repetition taken to the extreme in an incredibly addictive and beautiful way. Pop art mantras colorful and dark.
Release Date October 22, 2007
Probably the worst album to be released since the cover of the beatles album abbey road by St Thomas school for the deaf.
Release Date May 12, 2008
I must say when I played this the first 5 times I was a bit disappointed with it compared to Plans and Translanticism....it wasn't as immediate.....but now the melodies have got into my soul......and I am now counting the days (12 !) till I see them live for the first time.....
Its a bit edgier than the previous two.....but thats a good thing.....

This album exceeded all my expectations, I thinks its brilliant and I love the raw edge to it. One I will playing over and over!
Release Date September 10, 2007
The first thing I noticed about this album was how much poppier it was than her debut, but that's not a bad thing. Sure there will be those who cry sell-out with this album but that couldn't be further from the truth. KT manages to go full on pop and keep what made her great.
The album takes a while to get going with "Little Favours" and "If Only" managing to sound decent-good but without sounding special and seem slightly uninspired. The next track "White Bird" shows KT has not lost her way but again it is only a good song, nothing special at all.
The album finally comes into its own with "Funnyman" a brilliant pop songs which I loved from first listen, "Hold On" (the album's first single) is similar in that it's incredibly catchy and brilliant. "Hopeless" ... Read More:

After the excellent 'Final Straw', it was expected that Snow Patrol would come up with an album full of bigger tunes and much more ambition aswell. However, that is not the case and this album comes as a big dissapointment.
It's not outright bad, but it certainly shouldn't shouldn't be seen as anything like great. Yes, it does have it's moments. The singles that came off the album are all good. 'You're All I Have' and 'Open Your Eyes' are both catchy tunes. To be honest, 'Chasing Cars' was good at first, but now? Since the song was never off the radio, it became immensely irritating, especially as it is really just a Coldplay rip off. I think this was meant to be Snow Patrol's 'Fix You' but unlike the Coldplay hit, this song is devoid of any emotion.

This album is absolutely brilliant. Vocally, it is pure genius, and musically it is perfectly timed. I have just bought this album, as a replacement for the one I lost in my mispent teenage times! It`s jst as great as I remember it being (unlike many of my music purchases of the 90`s)
Release Date March 24, 2008
Gorgeous rich sound - very similar to the accoustics when I went to see the band play live at the Southampton Guildhall - that may be due to the location where the album was recorded. Unpredictable melodies and key changes make this a wonderfully challenging listen and something of an emotional rollercoaster. So grown-up that poppy hits like "Get Over It" seem almost too simplistic and commercial. Awesome musicianship and highly versatile vocals. Definitely my album of the year! If you like this, check out Elbow's "Seldom Seen Kid".
