If we look at offensiveness on a scale of say, 10 for the Holocaust, dropping to maybe a 7 or 8 for child abuse and poverty respectively, with perhaps the collected works of Scouting For Girls, the Script and James Blunt registering at a respectable 1, then the answer to the posited question is a resounding NO. How could something so painstakingly self-conscious and contrived as this be deemed offensive by anyone?
If you'll indulge me a second, here's a little quote from Mariah Carey from a few years back:
"God, there so much I still want to do. Sometimes I feel like all this money is just holding me back from what's really important, the children. When I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, ... Read More:

This B-Sides/Exclusives Album hasn't actually come out yet but as a huge fan of Fightstar I've heard all of these tracks already with the exception of 'Where's The Money Lebowski?' which is a new track exclusive to this album so I can safely say that this is definately a worthwhile buy for any old or new fan of the band. This album displays songs that range from the heaviest of the heavy to stunning ballads.
The acoustic versions of Floods and 99 are definately not just on this album to fill up space as the songs change so vastly from the originals which can be seen more in 99 as the vocal melody has changed to fit the slower and less heavy style.
Waiting For Superman is a cover of The Flaming Lips and is fantastic mostly because of ... Read More:

This album is really good. Come on - as if you didn't already know that! With the Foo Fighters there is a certain level of quality that you expect- and they always deliver.
The BEST songs on the album are 'Breakout'(I Love the screaming!), 'Learn To Fly'(A pop song, but still good), 'Live-Skin'(A good song for various reasons). There are other songs that are good as well. Such as 'Gimme Stitches', 'M.I.A, ect. but the first three songs I mentioned are really good and you will remember them for years to come.
The album only has a few bad songs which suffer from being very boring('Generator').
The album also has some acousic(y) songs to offer such as 'Next Year' and 'Ain't It the Life'. So basically, if you like the Foo Fighters - buy ... Read More:

I originally posted the review below on the 2001 release which has been deleted for many a year.
It's nice to see this classic album given a deserved re-release, especially as it's (yet another) two-disc deluxe edition. The album has had a welcome remaster and included unreleased demos and live tracks.
OK, this is the original lineups last album. Released in September 1979, it shows that the band were heading in a new direction. Though behind the scenes, the band were slowly falling apart, their recorded offerings were still of the highest quality.
Side one is shared between Shelley and Diggle. Pete offers us the catchy "Paradise", the gorgeous "You Say You Don't Love Me" and it's b-side "Raison D'etre". Steve gives us some ... Read More:

Constructive criticism is one thing, but some of the scathing reviews I have read on here are nothing short of pathetic.
Quite what the hell people expect from Oasis in this day and age is beyond me. After years of relative underachievement, 'DBTT' should be celebrated not berated.
Between the release of 'Supersonic' in 1994 and the enormity of Knebworth in 1996, Oasis were untouchable. Two classic albums, nine fantastic singles (with phenomenal b-sides often topping them), a clutch of era-defining gigs... they weren't a band, they were living legends, and like many teenagers back then, Oasis meant the world to me.
But 'Be Here Now', for all its inspired moments (DYKWIM?, Fade In/Out, Don't Go Away) arguably pushed the formula too ... Read More:

The 2 FF albums are the best albums of the 21st century, so far. Catchy tunes, crisp guitar/vocals/drums, no dud tracks. Some of the lyrics aren't up to much, but you can't win them all!
Release Date June 18, 2007
This is a damned fine album. I mean, notwithstanding the fact that it's 'Ecky and not Icky Thump, added to the fact that I am slightly bored with the concept of The White Stripes and wasn't exactly excited to hear that Jack & Meg were releasing a new album in 2007, the content of this album - or at least the majority of it - has won me over. There are plenty of songs on this album that would easily fit alongside the best output of 'White Blood Cells' or 'Elephant' and hearing that they had gone back to the hard-edged, bluesy style they excel at was pleasing.
Straight away, when I heard the lyrics of the title track, especially the lines;
"White Americans, what?/Nothing better to do?/Why don't you kick yourself out?/You're an immigrant too!" ... Read More:

This is offspring. No doubt. Nor do you even get a feel that that they have been going since the early 90's. I still prefer Ignion and tunes such as dirty magic & The Kids arnt alright etc are a couple of the best songs they ever did but who cares right.
This definatley feels like a band running on top form and to be fair I was not expecting much. I felt their formula was getting stale and boring and skipped the last album so I was actually a bit shocked when I saw this for sale... ...here we go again. But I took the chance and glad I did.
As soon as the opening track goes on the smile goes up and u'll be turning the volume to max and maybe even secretley jumping around your room.
Definatley a feel good album even if you have not heard ... Read More:
