Although the band still manage to create great songs and sounds it was during the 1980s that they arguably produced some of their best work and indeed, created some of the songs of all time which made the band the worldwide phenomenon they are today.

Songs like Pride, With or with out you, I still haven't found what I'm looking for and Where the streets have no name are now iconic and serve to represent what was a golden era for U2 and the music world in general.

Even if your not bothered about the B sides this compilation is simply brilliant and well worth owning. For me it should be in any music lovers collection.

Greatest Hits

I would like to take this opportunity to express my feelings not only about this album but also about the Human League who are one of my favourite bands and an inspiration, not only for their music but their togetherness as a band.

Firstly, the Greatest Hits album. The only track I'm not too keen on is the remix of 'Don't You Want Me' at the end, which I find a bit tacky (couldn't Virgin have put 'Heart Like A Wheel' on instead?). The other tracks on the album are of at least a good standard, with my favourites being 'Love Is All That Matters', 'Together In Electric Dreams', 'Human', 'Mirror Man' and 'Tell Me When' which was the song that introduced me to the band. Overall it is a superb collection of fine electronic music.

The Best of Blur

This is a truly comprehensive CD, containing all the band's hits, from the
electronic-sounding "She's So High" to brand-new indie-ish song "Music Is My Radar", this album contains some classic stuff. "Girls And Boys" and "Parklife" are both sparkling gems of Brit-pop, as is "Country House".
"Charmless Man" is an insanely catchy tune and the four tunes taken from
their eponymous 1997 effort are all present and correct. There is also some obscure stuff, like the ballad-like "To The End", the country-ish "Tender", and the lounge ballad "The Universal". Having heard 'Visiter' playing in a record shop I did what I almost never do and asked at the counter what was playing and then promptly bought it! Some tracks stand out immediately, with the great guitar playing and driving drums and others take a few more listens, but once you get a feel for this album you will be very impressed. It's nothing like the usual pap in the charts at the moment (thank heavens) and sounds all the stronger for it. The booklet is very 'spare' to say the least, but that is of minor concern once you've got the album in your stereo and you're enjoying the music they create. If you like bluesy (although not quite the best description), original music then this is the album for you, well worth a try.

The Lexicon Of Love

I have like previous reviewers of this album finally got around to replacing it on C D . My wife and I listened to it in the car on a long journey and it is still as good if not better now as it was more than a quarter of a century ago. It really has all been said from the vocals to the production even the cover of the album. I must agree that it is possibly the best album of the 1980`s. I guess Michael Jacksons Thriller and Fleetwood Macs Tango in the night would also be contenders but Lexicon of love truly is a timeless album and blows your mind everytime you hear it. That is the true test of any album if you are still enjoying it as much all these years later. A truly awesome album a must buy for any collection.

you're too old - no excuses. This album makes Metallica sound average, dated and out of ideas. The Blister Exists is the best metal tune I've heard in at least a decade - buy it for that if nothing else. This CD is the sonic equivalent of an 18 wheeler crashing through your frontroom while you're eating your tea.

This album is one of the top 20 of all time and one of my personal favourite records. There's no better collection of tracks put together on an LP and Moonage Daydream maybe one of the best Rock songs of all time.
