Panic at the disco have a horrible reputation among the general public, Most likely due to their pretty boy image, and their first album having an 'emo sound', which is almost frowned upon these days, and pigeon holds a bit terribly.

I will admit I loved their first record, not enough to buy it though I ripped it of a friend, it wasn't perfect, but a few song were catchy and the lyrics had an certain charm. But with this album Panic have done what all great groups do in their lifetime, mix it up..this is a step in a whole new direction, the albums quite amazing, the production is fantastic and the vocals have improved highly, while in the first album it was just the lead singer singing, now we have four part harmonies and the guitarist ... I had heard of TV On The Radio before, and seen them on various critics'lists but I'd never given them a listen until about 3 weeks ago. TV On The Radio surrounds you with its rich, complex sound. I listened to both Return to Cookie Mountain and their debut and was initially drawn to the bassier, more 'bare' sound of their first LP but I realised I find the vocals and synths on RTCM make for, if not an immediately catchy, then a deeper, more layered album.

RTCM is like a good novel, in that there is a definite beginning: I Was A Lover, middle: Wolf Like Me, and end: Wash The Day. These are the tracks that stand out the most, but without Let the Devil In, and Dirtywhirl, there would be gaps in the plot. Playhouses is slammed by some as a disappointment ... Read More:

'Parallel Lines' is a nice and short album - backing up my firm belief that all the best music material comes in short packages. Every track plays like a single here, and there are four 'official' hits including two Number Ones; 'Picture This', 'Hangin' On The Telephone', 'Heart Of Glass' and 'Sunday Girl'. These included two singles that were released in a year (1978) that was the best-selling year for the 7" single in music history that went on to cause all sorts of manufacturing problems. The hit singles are well-placed on the original LP, and this was also released as a Limited Edition in clear Vinyl. The material on this album was so good, it could have easily spawned other singles - no problem!

The Very Best of The Doors (2 Disc)

The truth is, all of The Door's albums are worth owning and because each album was so different in style, it is important to purchase each one seperately to understand the true artistic diversity of the band. However in terms of packaging and tracklisting, this is the best compilation ever. The 40th anniversary remixes have noticible clarity over the previous CD releases, although it is disc 2 that sees some of the most noticable improvements. Love her madly and hello I love you are subtly different as are riders on on the storm and others although it is these former two that are superior through enchancement.

The running order on the first disc is little different from the previous best of, but disc 2 is nicely balanced with all the up-tempo pop of "the soft parade" mated ... Read More:

Singles

I was never in to Suede at the time, I dismissed them as playing up the MM/NME and something built up by the fawning press. (I did side with Suede on the issue with mockneys Blur) I was a Manic Street Preachers fan, that was that.

I bought this CD on a whim that I should at least give them the chance I didn't give them at the time, I quite liked one or two tracks so why not?

Boy did I make a mistake, Suede, I was wrong.
I adore this collection and it's been a regular player on my CD for the last 18 months.

Catchy, involved melodies, dark, beautiful and shiny. Delivered with more feeling for it's subject matter than say Pulp, it draws you in to an all too familiar world (for some of us). Great band, great music.

August And Everything After

I bought this after hearing an acquaintance playing it. There is not a bad track on this album. Each one is sheer, haunting, lasting quality with an incredible and unique vocal style. I probably listen to it once a week. Despite having all the other albums, all of which have their own strengths and merits, I keep coming back to this one and find something new in each listen. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The Best Of: 1980-1990

Although the band still manage to create great songs and sounds it was during the 1980s that they arguably produced some of their best work and indeed, created some of the songs of all time which made the band the worldwide phenomenon they are today.

Songs like Pride, With or with out you, I still haven't found what I'm looking for and Where the streets have no name are now iconic and serve to represent what was a golden era for U2 and the music world in general.

Even if your not bothered about the B sides this compilation is simply brilliant and well worth owning. For me it should be in any music lovers collection.

Just as a final note, the music does not stop at track 14. After 'All I want is you', you will be treated to a bonus track so be patient and let it ... Read More:

Myths Of The Near Future

This is an excellent Album, And deserved its reward.
Despite one or two songs having a samey approach, this is a fantastic album!!!
The names of the songs are great i think! Even the album name 'Myths Of The Near Future' has origianality.
It also has a real 'Get Up And Go' feel to it, and has some classic songs.

Two Recievers - A very good track, and despite having some banging drums at the start... this is the calmest track here in my opinion.

Atlantis To Interzone - SURE BRILLIANCE!!! The best song on the album!!! Wicked Siren + Back Track Singing + Heavy Drums.
If you have seen the video then you can see yourself in it, and if you haven't... then you can pretty much imagine what it must be like!!
