I got this album after The Black Parade and Three Cheers, and I would recommend that order for anyone only just entering the punk-rock world.
You can definitly tell it's their first album. As my dad put it, it's unpolished, and I really love that about the album. The lyrics are violent and harsh, but touching at the same time. Through both Bullets and Three cheers MCR use a doomed lovers theme. If you like that (like me), listen to "Early sunsets over monroeville", "Demolition lovers" and "Drowning Lessons". This album sounds dark but they're all really good songs.A momentous first album. You're gonna love it!

The first album from The Goo Goo Dolls that I actually purchased, and I'm not disappointed. All fourteen songs on this album are amazing - even the new version of Name. Lyrically excellent songs which are catchy and addictive. If you like Iris, you'll love all the other songs on this collection, even if (like me) you'd never heard them before. Highly recommended!

I really wanted to like their music I borrowed this album from the library and I am really glad I didn't buy it. Terrible it was like nails on a chalkboard I just wanted it to end.

I found this album hugely disappointing. I loved Hopes and Fears which had some outstanding tracks so was eagerly looking forward to hearing this album but when I did it was so bland and dull I could barely stand to listen to it all! Not one track stood out to me in any way and they all just seem to blend into one big nothing mess of an album. Crystal Ball in particular, I found really annoying and dull and I was amazed it was released as a single. I've tried to listen to this all the way through a couple of times but it's just so boring I haven't been able to and it's been relegated to the bottom of my huge collection of CDs unfortunately! I just hope that Keane will manage to come up with a much better album next time around otherwise I think most people ... Read More:

This is their best album by far. Their is not one bad song on it. M Shadows voice is what makes the album what it is (class). Synester Gates has to be up their with slash, Jimmy Page, Angus Young and all the other great guiterist's thats ever lived his riffs are some of the best you will ever hear such as the one on seize the day you can never get sick of listning to what does with a guiter. Buy this album 10/10 My Favourite band of all time love them.

Stop whining, snivelling, prevaricating. If you you want SMOOTH, SEAMLESS, CLEAN, go and listen to Boston. This is art. This is provocation. Its messy. Its difficult. I saw a bunch of these songs played live last night in Donegal, and it was extraordinary. Nobody else is doing this. Celebrate!

I'm one of those people that first heard of Kimya Dawson through the Juno soundtrack, probably one of those who Dawson's hardcore fans probably hate. Anyhow, it is a remarkable little album with a range of emotions portrayed in each song. One song it'll have you dancing around the room the next it'll have you crying. It is original, quirky and inspiring. A particular stand out song on the album is 'Loose Lips' which reflects Dawson's thoughts on the US-Iraq war.

The problem with the Shea Stadium gig was that they were supporting a stadium rock band (The Who) and, thus, concentrated on some of their more audience-friendly tracks.
The best live Clash track I have ever heard is Complete Control. Other great lives songs include White Man In Hammersmith Palais, London's Burning and Capital Radio. None of which feature here.
Although there are some great Clash songs on here, and some are better than on the second half of From Here To Eternity, this does not represent the best of the Clash live.
To get a true picture of what the Clash were like live, you'd probably need the first half of From Here To Eternity, mixed with a random selection of tracks from this CD.
