The 2 FF albums are the best albums of the 21st century, so far. Catchy tunes, crisp guitar/vocals/drums, no dud tracks. Some of the lyrics aren't up to much, but you can't win them all!

For once an Amazon recommendation (based on my Blue Nile purchases so quite a tenuous connection) that was correct. I agree with other reviewer's comments about it not being immediate, but I had a sense from the first listen through that this was going to be a 'grower' - to me always a sign of quality.
The music's subtle simplicity hides a wonderful complexity you only get with subsequent - and if you can - quite detailed listening. I was lucky to get this just before a trip to Japan so immersed myself in it on both out and inbound flights. A pure joy.

This is honestly the one of the best albums I have ever purchased, and believe me I have many. Although I am a fan of genres such as Alt rock/soft rock, very few songs have actually been meaningful to me, in the sense that they have not touched my soul or left a huge impression on me. But every one of the songs in this album has meaning, and so many emotions conveyed through well thought-out lyrics. A raw, confessional album, One-X finds frontman Adam Gontier delving into a sense of utter loneliness that ironically comes from being constantly surrounded by other people. From listening to this album we can see that One-X is simultaneously the story of Gontier's personal destruction on the road, and a universal tale of feeling like an outsider.

Chris Cornell's first solo effort Seasons on the soundtrack of Singles is one of my favourite songs. After the wet fart of Soundgarden's Down on the Upside, I was expecting to be blown away by the first full solo album Euphoria Morning. Sadly, CC's flatulence continued. The adventures of Audioslave followed, producing 3 albums. Combining the best songs of these 3 would have made a fantastic, varied album.
Against better judgement, I was hoping CC would write an intense set of songs with the same feel as Seasons or some of his best work writing for Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave. Sadly, I think Carry On is his worst musical work to date. I find it un-listenable at times. Rather than Carry On, it should have been called Follow Through.

I got this DVD last month for my birthday and I've watched it twice already. I'm a huge FOB fan and think this DVD is brilliant. The behiend the scenes footage is funny but I was a bit disappointed to find it mainly just features Pete, definitely not enough Patrick/Andy/Joe. If you're a big FOB fan like me then this is for you.

Their debut was stunning - there's no denying it. Mixing power, fury and at times comic instrumentation and vocals, it was always going to be a hard album to beat. But System have done it. Toxicity is an amazing album.
For those that dismiss Toxicity as 'too commercial' or 'too mainstream'. To make accessible music that still has the power and strength that nearly all of the tracks on this CD have takes a great deal of skill. How to make music sound not only familiar but also brand apsnking new and still like it has something incredibly important to say is the sign of master songwriters. And Toxicity has all of that in bucketloads.
The melodic pain of singles Chop Suey, Toxicity and Aerials counter the deliciously dark and oddly furious anger ... Read More:

As a huge fan of U2, I don't like this compilation and never listen to it. I only bought it for the Milan DVD (which is worth it) and the booklet. I have all the songs already, obviously, but that's not why this is a bad 'Best Of'. It's because it really isn't the best of. I know that is an opinion, but I don't see how you can release something so titled and ignore almost a whole decade of a band's career. I understand this CD is for new fans who might have got into U2 just recently, but this is no way to show them what to expect. It's heavily weighted in favour of the 00s output, with the 80s following behind, and the 90s almost airbrushed out of history. It's a shame because for me, the 90s was the time of U2's best and most exciting stuff. Achtung Baby and Zooropa (and yes, ... Read More:

Jarvis Cocker has done revolutionary things within his life time the most recent was in 1996 when he mooned Michael 'Creepy' Jackson at the Brits. In doing so he marked the begining of the down fall of the self proclaimed King of Pop and kiddie fiddle at large.
The first great thing however was 1994s `Different Class'! I forgot all about this album I loved as a young teen however I recently began playing it again, and with a new adult ear I was blown away at the passion and social statements evident in all lyrics! Take `common people' a song about middle class people wanting to pretend to be poor ! With the lyrics "You will never understand
how it feels to live your life with no meaning or control". Truly inspirational and clever. My other favorite tracks are ... Read More:

This is clearly an indispensible release for anyone with fond memories of Derry's finest. Beautifully packaged and including much unreleased material.
