A wonderful collection of Jobim's best songs. Eliane has a very light voice which hardly rises above a whisper throughout, and she lives and breathes the spirit of bossa nova. The instrumental backing is outstanding, with Eliane's own excellent piano, Oscar Castro Neves on guitar, fine Brazilian percussion and Michael Brecker throwing in a few sax solos (Eliane was married to the other Brecker brother). Songs such as Caminos Cruzados, Falando de Amor and Anos Dourados make this a must for all Jobim fans.

Jazz Carnival: the Best of Azymuth

I've been a fan of Azymuth's 4 about 20 years. JAZZ CARNIVAL, like the band's production within the so called 80s, sounds amazingly like music of nowadays. I find it obvious the trio is the frame of those music styles wich sparkle, carrying nomminations such as nu-jazz, acid-jazz, club-jazz, whatsoever.
Does it make sense?
