I have had this DVD (the 'Deluxe' version, of which more later) since it's first week of release. I have to say it's musical content and the filming of it has grown on me as time goes by. At first I was not too impressed I have to say. But somehow it seems to win over with a hidden depth of content and character that just isn't immediate like some of the other U2 concert DVDs. Maybe it's because it seems a little slower paced, or maybe it's just because the band are a little slower paced than before. They are (like us all) getting older. But I don't think that's the only reason. It is an American 'in the round' show, and that changes the style and atmosphere of the concert compared to the European shows where the crowd are usually facing the ... Read More:

I'm listening to this for the first time today and I can't believe how good it is.
Just bought it because of Monster Hospital, but there are some real surprises on the rest of the album. Really intelligent guitar work, reminds me of Graham Coxon. Brilliant.

The good points of this DVD:
- it features Madonna, whose performance at Live Earth was the most powerful of her career, where she stole the show, blew acts like Foo Fighters and Razorlight into supporting roles and was the only act of the day to have 88,000 people jumping up and down, going bananas and roaring as one.
- It contains highlights of most of the major artists sets, mercifully cuts out most of Metallica and Corinne Bailey Rae and captures the energy of the day long gig.
The Bad points:
- it is only a "highlights" disc. WHich means you dont get to see Madonna perform her signature tune, "Ray of Light" or her biggest hit "Hung Up". You miss out on the full Bon Jovi performance, the ... Read More:

Nick Caves 'Road To God Knows Where / Live At The Paradiso' DVD is set mainly around the release of his 'Henry's Dream' album. So my first piece of advice would be to give that a listen, if you haven't done so already, before purchasing this DVD. Although that isn't to say that this DVD can't be enjoyed without the familiarity of the songs.
As has been previously pointed out by a reviewer, perhaps the main flaw is the fact that the Paradiso concert footage has been shared between two shows. Which means that the live audio track is played over footage of two separate nights performances, cutting during songs between the two. Although this doesn't completely ruin the viewing of the concert, there is always the sense of wishing you could ... Read More:

pinks try this tour is not quite as good as the im not dead tour i think this is because the new songs on pinks im not dead album are so much popular that it just doesnt measure up pink is defeniently a rock godess and all should bow down in front of her feet pink goes to such lengths to make her fans happy that she gets suspended up in the air sings live and does acrobotics pink is a good exaple of an all rounder she can sing dance
and peforms infront of crowds fearlessly pink is definently a dedicated performer and nothing can stand in her way in this concert i absoulutedly luv luv luv pink with my life.
I first heard this album by chance just a couple of weeks after it was released. I was 16 at the time and it was just one of a stack of records I'd borrowed from the local library. I'd never heard of Toyah, and in fact I'd only borrowed it because I really liked the cover, (to this day it still remains one of my all time favourite record sleeves).
Listening to it was an absolute revelation for me as I'd never heard music like it before. I'd been enjoying Prog music like Genesis and King Crimson for years and didn't really listen to anything else. I also never listened to music radio, read the music papers, or watched Top Of The Pops, so I had no idea of what was going on in the post-punk music world.

Okay, if you like Robbie Williams then the chances are you will enjoy this DVD although like me you may be dissapointed. The performances are exactly what you would expect from Robbie and of themselves each song is performed well, however, I do have 2 criticisms of this DVD, both in relation to how the performaces have been edited. Firstly, there is no chronological or geographical order to each song e.g. the songs flit from one concert venue to another and from one year to another and back again making the whole thing seem disjointed - and unless you were there you will have little idea which venue each performance is at(okay the castle in the background of some shots is a give away for Slane) and the sleeve notes don't help much as there is no song listing ... Thirteen years after the debut 'Pretty Hate Machine' slipped quietly onto US shelves (with estimated sales of 20,000), Nine Inch Nails release their eighth album, a no doubt multi-million shifting lavish double set in a fabric box.
All other considerations aside (the steep price tag, the increasing exploitation of a small set of original material; with a remix album for every studio set on his own label, and now a live package as well), 'And All That Could Have Been / Still' is one of the best live recordings ever officially released. The first disc, taken from the final eight US dates of the bands tour, combines excellent musicianship with a crisp, strong mix that supercedes any other NIN release.

I've been a Townes Van Zandt fan for over 20 years now and I've lost more cassettes and cd's than I care to remember. So when I decided to begin to collect his music again I fortunately begun here. There's all the Townes that I've always admired (I nearly used the word love) on one cd. If you buy no other , then this one is a must as it's the songwriter/poet at his best, i.e Live. I was fortunate to see him perform once and will never forget it. This recording captures him at his best - Live and raw and the genius shines through.
