firstly i should probably say what kinda music i like: most things!
and this is one of those rare albums which is amazing - every track is wonderful. this album, like moon safari, does not disappoint....and i dont really see a massive change in styles - its different to moon safari but its not so different that you would only like moon safari OR talkie walkie.
i only got it this morning and ive now listened to it through 2 times and it is amazing. it has the beauty of cinematic orchestra but with air's unique electronica feel - a calm and masterful piece of work.

This studio album was released in 1995, and features songs from the movies. They are not neccessarily the title songs - some may have merely featured in a film, and so in some cases the link is tenable (for example, her cover of Patsy Cline's Crazy).
There are three really stand out tracks - Love on the rocks (from The Jazz Singer), Try a little tenderness (From The Commitments) and Who wants to live forever (From Highlander).
Whilst Bassey's voice shines throughout, the arrangements on the rest are not all up to the usual high standard (for example this version of Goldfinger falls short of the brilliant original).
Some listeners may be disappointed but all in all worth having for the outstanding "Who wants to live forever".

I can't believe no-one's reviewed this album yet. I'd like to call it under-rated but that would only sound sympathetic. Basically this is one of the more recent offerings from the Acid Jazz quartet. Corduroy themselves said that every one of their albums is a concept album, an imaginary soundtrack to a film if you may. This album really does play like a soundtrack because their styles vary much more from Acid Jazz to easy listening, to Brazilian and funk. If this film were a soundtrack to a film, it would be set in the late 60's in locations such as London and Paris baby, with fantastic car chases and Columbo type characters snooping around warehouses with handguns. This remixed version of Star People is really worth purchasing. The more dance orientated mix and slightly changed lyrics work well together. The other tracks on the single are superb. Everything She Wants and Star People are both unplugged versions and really show how great a live singer George is. It's been a long time since Everything She Wants sounded this good. The way the songs differ from their album versions really make this single worth buying. If you like George's voice then this is one of the best singles to hear it really excel. Go on indulge yourself.
