Having giving this album a good deal more listenin gover the summer, I concluded that whilst not the best chillout album ever, it certainly is driftingly beautiful. Whether you've come back from a hard night's clubbing or are just crashing out on your sofa on a hot August afternoon, this CD is blissful and sublime. I prefer the second CD as it is more 'lifted' and 'open'. The tracks just seem to flow and let you fall asleep to beautiful haunting tunes.
CD 1 is by no means dull and is more moving and rhythmic but nevertheless, a compliment to the second.
Apology and at off to MoS. I hope 2004 is even better

Incredible, timeless and beautiful. I owned this when it first came out over 10 years ago, and somewhere in the crazy few years that followed i lost it. But having just found a copy i can't believe how amazing it still sounds after all this time. Stunning. One of the best dance mix/compilations of all time. Sound be in every dance fan collection. Even if you are younger and just getting into dance music, you owe it to yourself you to own this. Essential.

The original Ministry of Sound Karma Collection mixed chilled Indian/mystic grooves and ambient stuff across two CDs. This new release, the 2003 version, has a more sharp division between the CDs. The second CD is not really "chilled" in the most mellow sense. It is actually vaguely dancy, with a significant amount of "four to the floor" beats. However, it still has the "mystical" or "Indian" feel to some of it.
The first CD is far more chilled, and is really very good at its job. The tracks are very interesting, and also relaxing. As with the first Karma Collection, the songs on the this CD have more of a "darkness" than your typical "Chilled Ibizia"-type compilation. Not darkness in the negative sense, but in they feel more like late ... Read More:

I've often reviewed older albums and compared them to the newer ones, and once again, it seems that dance albums from over 7 years ago can still out do todays fancy commercials, and over marketed trash. This was the first Ibiza Annual, and though 2000 was excellent too, this is by far the best, simply because it actually has the sounds of Ibiza without the cheese or eurotrash of pop music.
The classic layout is used - both cd's starting with some funky house, and ending alot more up tempo and up beat. Its great to hear an Annual that actually captures "Ibiza" music, rather than cheesey euro trash as found on later Ibiza annuals after 2001. Burnin' is one of my favourites - a more up-beat version of the original disco tune, and the massive hit Cafe' ... Read More:

A must purchase for anyone who remembers the "Ministry" when dance music was cool!!! This box set comprises of 4 top dj's across 2 cd's and one drum 'n' bass cd. Cd1 "RULIN'" has 12 top tunes mixed superbly by CJ MACKINTOSH and TODD TERRY taking such tunes from Inner City and C&C Music Factory and giving it a "put this on before you go out on a friday night kinda vibe". Cd2 "FRISKY?" has 14 tunes mixed by SEB FONTAINE and JON PLEASED WIMMIN which I found has a slightly more heavier feel and definately has to be played loud!!! with such mixes of Jaydee's "Plastic Dreams" and More Kante's "Yeke Yeke" the pace gets quite frantic and the neighbours will definately be calling the police!!!! Cd3 "LOGICAL PROGRESSION" by LTJ Bukem/MC Conrad ... Read More:

This CD if fantastic there is only one thing that lets it down - and that is the third CD. Although we all love to listen to dance anthems of the past - and most of these sangs really are respected anthems, it would have been nice to see some newer tunes on an ablbum entitled "2004". Overall though, this CD is a must with tunes like 'let the sun shine,' 'love me right' and 'somebody to love' making it what it is.

Somebody Told Me That This Album Would Blow!(Cheessy...Yes) But I Listened To It And It Is Absolutely Fantastic! The Killers - Somebody Told Me (Mylo Mix)Is Superb. Although Some Of The Songs Have Already Been Played Out On Previous Ministry Of Sound CD'S, Nonetheless This 3-CD Compilation Is Just Worth It.

Let me start by saying what the hell is that one reviewer from wheymouth or wherever doing with his review, all that stuff about would he dance to the tracks by percentage etc... hahahaha sorry that just made me chuckle too much! Get real! Anyways, im 20 and i wasnt even alive when this music was the popular genre but i know good music and this cd is a classic. Theres a few tracks that could be replaced by more headnodding tracks hence the 4 stars but apart from that its an amazing collection of tracks to chill or party, and let me assure me i do both! Standout tarcks include Jocelyn Brown - Somebody elses guy (i dont think anyone has mentioned this yet!!) Fat larrys band - Zoom, Mary Jane girls - All night long, to name just a few. ... Read More:
