A nice collection of songs and her voice doesn't grate as some female singers' voices do. I prefer the voice on this collection to albums featuring the voice of Susie Tallman whose voice I find altogether too high to be condsidered really relaxing. I note this says various artists and yet the album features one female voice throughout. Maybe it really is different singers but it doesn't sound like it when listening. I don't know why albums like this don't make it known the singer's name, it seem a little unfair that they have to remain anonymous, especially when the renditions are as nice as this.

Of the 27 tracks on offer here a minimum of 11 are covers and some of the originals are from way back ie Grover Washington and Earl Klugh before the term Smooth Jazz had been dreamt up.
Dont get me wrong you get great musicians here and side one showcases some of the very best including Boney James, Rick Braun, Pieces of a Dream, Fourplay and the Rippingtons, where the CD falls down is side two where 10 0f the 13 tracks are from 1980 and before and would have probably fallen into the Jazz Funk category.
If you are looking to try a smooth jazz album I would recommend hunting down old Jazz FM compliations which are going very cheap on this site eg 101 Eastbound a penny, a bargain with more upto date artists.

Very pleasant to listen to, the music is very melodic and soothing in some places although I was a little disappointed that the focus was more on the instrumentals rather than natural sounds. Bird song and running water can be heard in the background but are largely repeated over tracks. "Sounds of the forest" may be a slightly inappropriate title - it doesn't really put me in mind of being in a forest. That said, I enjoyed the cd, particularly track 5.

I would guess that most people these days, upon seeing this album in the listings, would opine that the marketing department at EMI must be scraping the bottom of the barrel to come up with this for their "Best...In The World...Ever" series. Fans of band music will shun it for its pick-and-mix composition, and everyone else will not give it a second thought.
Unfashionable it may be, but there is nothing quite like the raw power and stirring sound of a military band playing live, unadulterated by electronics and amplification, and, while it is almost impossible to transfer this energy satisfactorily to record, to simply ignore it is to miss out on some blistering tunes and harmonies, and great music overall, and I would argue that there's ... I bought this album in the expectation that it would open a door to brand new fields that I had hitherto until now not explored. I read the track listing and noted that on this well priced compendium there were represented 11 albums spanning his recording career. In my mind I was already debating how I would subsequently follow up with the acquisition of the originals - should I begin chronologically, or would it be best to start off with the ones on which the tracks I liked best were to be found?
Well, in the end, after giving this a good listen, I've decided not to bother. Sure I can appreciate its appeal, the musicianship is fine, the lyrics are fun and there are some great guitar solos, however there are no tunes, nothing to hang your ... Read More:

The title of this album says it all. This is such a great collection of songs I don't know where to start. If you're new to Marley then you can't do better than this album, and if you're already a fan then this a great collection of his stuff in one place. Worth it for 'No woman no cry' alone! Brilliant summer music, or any time of the year it's that good!

The fictional detective Paul Temple was created by author Francis Durbridge in the 1930's.
Durbridge's style of fiction writing is very much from the Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers sta-
ble. Therefore you know exactly what to expect. Well spoken upper class/ upper middle class central
characters, intricate plots, red herrings galore and a mounting body count. I have grown to love the
genre, but I admit I was only introduced to Paul Temple very recently by a friend
Paul Temple is in fact one of the BBC's most popular and long running series being produced from
1938 until 1969. Most of the older recordings have unfortunately been lost and this prompted the cor-
poration to recently ... Read More:
