I bought this set largely on word-of-mouth recommendation after I heard and greatly enjoyed a cover-performance of one of Jake Thackray's songs.

The songs talk of love and life and are touching with an engaging boy-next-door earthiness. I can see why Jake Thackray has a cult following. Some of his songs are humourous in a mouth-twitching kind of way, although the meek melodies and sparsity of presentation lead the listener to lean heavily on the lyrics. However, to the uninitiated some of it may be a little inaccessible and, for someone so reliant on lyrics, dare I say it, on occasion pointless.

Transport of Delight: the Best of Flanders & Swann

The material on this CD is superb - Flanders and Swann were wonderful performers and superb comic song writers. Not only that, but they're clearly thoroughly enjoying performing - you can clearly hear Swann laughing away during Flander's monologues, even though he must have heard it all hundreds of times before. The material has a gentle, dry humour about it, which sems to be missing from modern comedy. Much of the fun comes from poking a little fun at day to day life, along with some very witty word play. Perfect listening for a wet sunday afternoon at home.

While I can't confirm the copy protection issue reported elsewhere, I CAN say this is a pretty good summary of his work.

It's not just a good collection of his comedy songs such as Tie Me Kangaroo, Jake the Peg and Maximillian Mouse, but also shows off some of his Australian "folk" songs such as Wild Rover and Waltzing Matilda as well as some others of his eclectic styles from the gentle Fijian Girl through to his recent bizarre Led Zep cover of Stairway to Heaven.

But how can a "Best Of" NOT feature his UK number 1 "Two Little Boys???" There are plenty of other best of compilations, so you may want to try Disky's compilation "Best of Rolf Harris".

An EXCELLENT album - the sound quality is astounding! the cd is a big improvement in sound quality compared to vinyl (for a change!). My favourite track, ANNE OF CLEVES, is a masterpiece. Crystal clear recording, Rick's keyboards and Alan White's drums come literally crashing out of the speakers, definitely one to get you moving! In fact this whole album would rank alongside any Yes album. Very highly recommended, an essential addition for any Yes/Classical/Prog Rock fan.

The real stand out track on this great album for me is "The Old Green Iron Lamp", a truely beautiful and poignant song showing the side of Harding that "Bombers Moon" was to bring even more to the fore.

I bought this book, for my daughters, after reading the reviews, and read it myself, and was not disappointed !! It is excellent.My daughter is now captured, and a queue of her friends await her finishing the book so they too can join the adventure of Susan and Colin,and their car crash fall into the fight of good and evil.

The book is extremely well written, from start to finish both surprising and enchanting, leaving you will no option but to read The Moon of Gomrath the second book in the series. I would even go so far as to say, Harry Potter you have a rival.(High praise from our household). All in all, an excellent book and a very worthy read.

I love every track on this album. Cece winans did not disappoint in this album at all. Everyone should have a copy of it. It's an awesome cd, powerful, uplifting and truly praise and worship experience.This is my first time of buying an album and love every tracks on it.
