Israel's latest musical adventure is again an eclectic mix of genres, with God at the center. Generally, the arrangements are a lot more accessible than those on for instance "Another Level", and as such easier to appreciate. The shift from traditional gospel to contemporary worship seems nearly complete with this album, which is a shame, as the more intimate tracks with close harmonies ("So Come", "If Not For Your Grace") stand out over those that are supposed to make you want to dance ("With Long Life").
The message contained in the tracks is just as varied, or even contradictory at times. "Surely, surely" ends with a long list of 'moral issues' (abortion, sexuality) that must 'come down', only to be followed by a message of 'no ... Read More:

This album shows Bill at his funniest and at his most angry. I love it that he can make you laugh and open your eyes wide to the irony in life at the same time. His political jokes are sharp and witty and his life observations are not only true, but hilarious. This is an excellent starting place to Bills material and once you've heard it you'll be hooked. A genius artist. Not one to share with your mum, but one to share with all your friends, family and colleagues and as many people as possible!!! Brilliant.

Vladimir Ashkenazy must rank as one of the greatest pianists of the modern era. His blend of flawless technique and sensitive interpretation marks him out as being uniquely placed to deliver as near to definitive performances as it is possible to get. This set of piano concerti was my introduction to his work, and I remain as impressed now as I was when I first heard them. He is ably supported by a rich and warm sound from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by the incomparable Sir Georg Solti. Ashkenazy was apparently apprehensive about approaching Beethoven and attempting to play him in the West when he emerged from the Soviet Union as a young man in the sixties; he need not have been. His command of the tonal energy and colours of the piano works ... Read More:

To be honest the studio versions of the classic songs such as Poisoning Pigeons.. etc do not stand up well and are not really necessary but the TW3 sons are just brilliant! So if you are on a tighter budget then buy Tom Lehrer in Concert (which contains his two classic albums) and That Was The Year That Was for the essential Tom Lehrer. Who would have thought that topical satire, such as Send the Marines, could remain topical 40 years later? Pure genius!

I never buy albums but Libera have made me want to buy all of theirs! Their voices are angelic! after i heard them for the first time, i never found a choral group who could sing as well as Libera! This is truly one of Libera's best albums! I recommend these songs:
-Sanctus
-Ave Maria
-Salva Me
-Voca Me
...especially 'Voca Me' and 'Salva Me'. There aren't any downsides to their music...unless you hate classical music...

One of the reviewers refers to the music as adding to his collection of Indian classical music. If one were to draw the line dividing classical from 'pop' music, based on popularity, the review readers will be pleased to know that this music would be called 'pop' music.
The Vedic and other Hindu chants included in this record are a part of many Sanaatan-dharmi Hindu homes in their daily devotional routines.
Tracks 4 and 5 also form part of prayer in many schools in North India. 'Asato Maa' is a prayer to be led from falsehood to truth, darkness to light, death to eternal life, and hence suits the pursuit of knowledge. 'Sahanaavavatu', which is how it should be written in true representation from Sanskrit, is a prayer for togetherness in ... Read More:

The Worst Album... by the Shirehorses is a classic of the novelty music genre. This, however, is not. It's not really very funny! F****** around is seriously embarrassing lads, to substitute swearing for humour is not on, and the songs they choose to parody are not as privvy to good lyrical changes. Having said that, there are moments of greatness - the Indecipherable Boys track is what Mark and Lard are best at, and Bellow is nicely done. However, the greatest moment you will hear for yourself is at the end of If You Tolerate This Piss - one of those moments between the two that makes them one of the great double acts of our time.

Right, im a massive John Williams fan, and when I saw this box set, i had to add it to my collection. Kinda wished i hadnt now though. The Recordings on this cd are for the most part average at best, with one or two exceptions. Being a musician myself, im probably a lot more nit picky than most consumers would be though. The orchestra, and in particular the brass section, is very scrappy in many of the tracks. Its almost as if they are sight reading their parts, as there are very many mistakes in places, and the tuning is also diabolical a lot of the time (with some horendous vibrato from the trumpets in some of the indiana jones themes, it sounds more like a new orleans jazz band in places). My advice to people looking to buy this is..... well dont. Stick ... Read More:
