Okay Blessed By a broken hearts debut album maybe seen as a blatant rip off the ozone destroying elements of the peroxide hair metal era but Tom Gambino sings like he mean it on tracks like Mike skills 2 which sounds like the early era Linkin Park while Ride into the night with a superb guitar intro is reminiscent of motley crue combined with the vocals of Papa Roach while She wolf is just downright evil.

This may not win by a mile but atleast an element of our past is kept alive but with a updated image and sound for the 21st century!

I remember hearing this album being played alot when i was very little. it stuck with me because i do remember randomly spouting out

THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS! BOOOY!

at random intervals throughout the years. its only been recently that i rekindled my love of this nutty band. (im 18 now) i have to say they are possibly my favourite band. i have pretty much all their albums on my computer now, but whenever my media player happens to randomly hop onto a song from flood, it just makes me smile. it does have some of the greatest songs on i think. though theirs loads of TMBG songs from all albums i love. but i think flood is just special to me.

I find this disappointing.
You'll probably like it if you like military bands in general, but it's not really pipe band music. It's pipes mixed in with other stuff.
And I have to say that the principal piper seems to lack a feel for the timing of the music.

I first got this album in 1985 and it blew me away then. Imagine if the only acoustic guitar music you had heard was tuneful, rythmical, skillful strumming using an impressive variety of chords and you thought it was great (and why not !), then someone plays you a great finger picking guitarist like Bert Jansch or Davy Graham - you would be amazed, it would be like a revelation onto a higher plain. Now imagine you are used to listening to great finger picking guitarists and someone plays you 'Aerial Boundaries' or 'Rickover's Dream' or 'Ragamuffin' it would cause a similar level of amazement but more so and a revelation onto an even higher plain. My boss kindly lent me this set last week. I already had the original version of the "1000 Years" show on CD, but this video adds new dimensions to the performance. Much of the focus, of course, is on RT as he stands at the mike in that characteristic twisted posture, leading with his right shoulder, eyes closed on the ballads, biting off the end of the lines of the fast songs, effortlessly switching from humorous banter to performances of extraordinary intensity, and playing just about the best acoustic guitar you've ever heard.
