I've got all the Indigenous releases so far, and this one's a bit different to the early cd's. Not as Stevie Ray Vaughan influenced for a start. I wouldnt say its more commercial, but certainly a bit more variety. Took me 2 or 3 listens to really get into it, but leave it on in the car for a couple of days and you will be hooked. He's certainly developed his singing and song-writing, but not at the expense of those glorious fuzzy solo's. If you liked the earlier stuff, buy it!!! If you like real good blues rock, its time to discover something new and excellent.

This Album captures the energy in Moore's live performances and it's not hard to see why so many refer to his Hard Rock Days as being his best work. Like many great Artists Moores studio work is great but his live performances really bring out his energy,style and raw-rough cut edges giving the music more punch and balls. When you consider this guy sings and plays lead it's hard to see how he can do it all so proficiently.

The standout track on the Album for me is shapes of things where Moore just explodes during the guitar solo and takes it into another dimension for several minutes before returning back elegantly into the song.

These are my most-listened-to guitar solos. All his albums are good, and all have memorable moments but, like most blues guitarists, his guitar-playing is much better than his singing and his songs; here he does what he does best, and there are no better examples of it ( though most of his 3 tracks on the Montreux festival album, with Chico Hamilton and Little Milton, are on a par - note: that's a different album from Albert's own 'Blues at Sunrise:live at Montreux', which is also essential). J.J. Cale Live

OK, look, if you're reading this you don't need me to tell you how good J.J.Cale is! All I can add to the previous reviews is this. Having had the rare good fortune to catch him live on the tour this album was cut from, this CD brings back memories of one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Many nights I've spent with my guitar, strumming away to these tunes, a beer on the table, just as nature intended!
