This is another milestone in Moore's rock solid history. Throughout his career he has chopped and changed genres frequently making him such an exiting guitarist.
This is one such episode where the obvious celtic feel is prominent reflecting his mood from revisiting his native ireland and the untimely death of the great Phil Lynott.
The Wild Frontier Track was originally written for Phil Lynott to share vocals which sadly never came about, Over the Hills is a very clever well put together song and probably the only that that stood upto and warranted the over-production. Wait a little time has 'Billy Idol' stamped all over it (Moore made no secret of admiring him at the time). The loner is an instrumental which liked ... Read More:

SRV and Double Trouble's final recording is a fitting footnote to a career which would end in a tragic helicopter crash the following year. It's ironic; In Step catches Stevie at his most vital; alive and thankful for the chance he'd been given following years of drug and alcohol abuse. The optimistic tone and fiery licks are showcased in tracks such as "Crossfire" and "Tightrope" and Buddy Guy gets a suitable nod with scalding versions of "Let Me Love You Baby" and "Leave My Girl Alone". The standout track on this recording; however is the more contemplative "Riviera Paradise" - a gorgeous meditation with shimmering guitar and marrow-deep soul. If Stevie had died four years earlier, when his addictions threatened to overwhelm him, we would have ... Read More:

Wow, where do I start? How about with....BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!
Yep sounds good to me, Magic Sam, an obscure blues musician, just as his career was about to take off he sadly died, leaving behind two studio albums, West Side Soul, is his debut, it's rooted deeply in Soulful blues, from the very first track 'That's All I need' I found myself hooked, his quivering vocals demanding my attention, the guitar work was on par with his singing.
This truly is an underrated artist and album for that matter. Magic Sam should be raved about in every Country, city and town.
Listening to Sam is like fusing the guitar work of great blues guitarists with the vocals of, say, Sam Cooke---Okay, Okay, maybe Sam Cooke is a little high in ... Read More:

People who are indifferent about Blues music need not apply. For everyone else this album (along with others Moore has done) really rewrites the rules for blues guitarists and fans of such everywhere. I reckon Gary Moore ranks in the top five guitar players in the world EVER, and I would rather listen to this virtuoso irishman than Eric Clapton any day.
If you met somebody who had no idea what Blues music sounds like and they ask you to give them a taster, you could do no better than to play them 'The Sky Is Crying' or 'Jumping At Shadows' from this CD.
A word of warning though. Only invest in this CD (which comprises entirely of live material recorded at various concert venues), if you like your guitar players loud fast and full ... Read More:

The team at Kent continue to make available these gems from the past, some of which would otherwise never by heard by many fans of 60's soul. The tracks popularity, span the years from the early days of soul clubs right up to current favourites. Remarkable because after so many years most are new to cd and are great records. Excellent sleeve notes as usual. Long may it last.

Remember when R & B meant 'Rhythm and Blues'? That's what Dr Feelgood's early albums were all about, before the term 'pub rock' was invented. I'd enjoyed 'Down by the Jetty', but only for about half the tracks, when I heard 'Malpractice'. It was inspirational at the time. Popular music had split into the trashy aftermath of 'glam rock' and the super-serious 'progressive rock': Dr Feelgood brought the emphasis back to the sound, the beat and the raw emotion of music. From 'Watch your step', through 'Riot in cell block no. 9' to 'You shouldn't call the doctor...' this was a whole album of fast, danceable music. The home-grown feel added to the appeal: four ordinary blokes, singing about funny stories and ordinary things. I wholeheartedly recommend this album ... Read More:

This is probably one of Keb's best albums. It has his usual Robert Johnson influenced playing and great vocals. This album has some great blues and is very laid back. 'Come On In My kitchen' is especially good and this album rates as one of my favourites of Kebs. A great place to start if your new to Keb Mo, or even if you're new to blues.
