I would say that this Live album captures Robert Cray at his very peak with songs from his very best albums.
I have his only other Live album that was released only recently "Live Across the Pond" and I would say that whilst I really liked that double album this one surpasses it. Even the lesser known songs such as "Don't You Even Care" scream with raw emotion. His guitar playing is awesome, his singing is serene. If you have never listened to Robert Cray - PLEASE START NOW.

I bought this cd/dvd combo despite already owning the cd, now the property of a friend, as it was the quickest way to see Ian Siegal in action.
The cd is reviewed elsewhere (seriously good!)& the dvd in this package contains not only good live footage from the North Sea Jazz Festival but also an interview with the man himself.
I gave it 4 stars as the production is pretty basic but, then again, that is also part of its charm. It captures the essence of a tight blues band playing live & clearly enjoying it.
There can't be a better offer out there so get while you can!

Where to start on the album...well it has to be Little Wing...the sleeve notes by Jimmie Vaughan state that with headphones on you can hear his amp buzzing and almost smell the pipes burning...and indeed you can, very rarely is anything this good!...add to this stevie's own redition of the title track, though the best version of this is to found on Martin Scorsese's Stevie collection. (a blistering live version).
This album was released just after Vaughan's death and is very possibly his best (studio) album.
What would he have been like if he had lived!?!?

This is Still Got The Blues part 2. The quality of songs isn't quite up to its illustrious partner but the guitar is still scintillating. That isn't to say the songs are bad, far from it. Story Of The Blues has a solo to equal Gary's (and ANYONE else's) best. Worth the entrance price alone! The second and last of Gary's rocked-up blues albums. Brilliant stuff.

I'm biased cos I love the JH Band,For me Jeff Healey is one of the best guitarits ever. This album lets the band show they can rock as well as play great blues as in the previous cd 'see the light'. Mark Knopfler and George Harrison appear on the Album..I need not say more..just check it out.

This Cd is a collection of Johnny Winter's hot texas Blues/Rock containing most of his best songs from his heyday in the 60s and 70s. From the opening bars of Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo its easy to see that this man means business. The album covers a broad spectrum of Johnny's blues music; ranging from the rocky sounds of Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo, to the driving blues, 'Mother in Law Blues' and even to the old acoustic delta blues sound of his creation, 'Dallas'. The tracks definitely display johnny's fiery, lightnin fast blues guitar and raucous vocals well.
This Cd is the one that got me hooked on Johnny Winter so i would highly recommend it to anyone curious about his music.

Bought in the wake of seeing Ford live at Sheffield's Boardwalk. It's a superb album, showcasing that superb, fluent musicianship. I've listened to it over and over. It's not a problem to me that it's easier on the ear and less edgy than other albums, indeed it means I can put it on in the car when the family is with me. The one factor that really irks me though is this. On the gig, Robben's finishes were sharp, and so imaginative and unexpected as to literally take my breath away. Why then, in the name of Seamus's trousers, does he fade so many of the tracks out in the studio? Pointless, and, for me, cost one star.

For me this is SRV's best ever album, along with brother Jimmy they produce a heady mix of blues, rock, rockabilly and soul in one truly enjoyable release. To hear the two of them trading guitar duties together makes you so sorry this was their only album together.SRV was a guitar legend, but Jimmy is every bit his equal and more,he continues to produce great CD's just get a listen to them. It's not a long album,it leaves you wanting more but it's totally satisfying and definitely not to be missed at any price.
Not only do they play guitar so well, but both have good voices as well. The instrumental tracks maybe not what you expect, but they are very very good indeed. Just one album together but it's legendary stuff,no one should miss out on one of rock blues totally classic albums.

I purchased this cd on the back of "Swagger" which is a later offering & was absoluitely astounded by the quality & integrity of Ian Siegal's playing. Meat & Potatoes is absolutely immense however & is by far the best blues cd I've listened to in ages.
His vocals sound like Howlin Wolf at his meanest & his phrasing is right out of the gospel according to Paul Rodgers.
The whole band bristles with the kind of understated blues playing that is all too rare these days. I won't go through a track by track synopsis but would recommend this to anyone even remotely interested in the blues. The man is seriously talented!
