I heard "Valentine" on an internet radio station and was hooked, so I took a chance and ordered the album. What can I say but WOW?! All the tracks are brilliant, whether they be the fast and loud "Ten Minutes," or the aching beauty of "I'll Catch You." I love this cd and I really wish people over here knew about them so they would tour! Very highly recommended.

Completely unlike Green Day and Blink-182, The Souls are a have-a-good-time true Punk band that MEAN what they sing, and their songs MEAN something.
They also havent sold out, or now own a clothing company that charges £25 for 'hate the system' logo t-shirts. #sniggers#
This album is the benchmark of their career - and also the one that served as a catylst to their popularity.
Everything an album should have - Fast songs, sad songs, silly songs and ridiculous songs.
And the singer has an agreeable voice as well, instead of The Souls being another band with a child-vocalist.
Simply put: An album for anyone that thinks music is for having a good time and putting a message across. Sing ... Read More:

Bad Religion are one of the best bands ever to see live, and this album sort of confirms it. There are some great tracks here, like "Generator", "Punk Rock Song" and "Portrait of Authority", which sound as good live as on the CD, and "Part III" actually sounds better. The most annoying thing about this album is the backup vocals. Greg's perfect, gruff-yet-melodic voice, Jay's vaguely on-tune screams and Brain's high-pitched, completely out of tune wails do not harmonize well. And it's a shame, because BR did it so well with Brett still in the band. Another problem is the lack of Brett songs. I truly think both Brett and Greg are equal when it comes to songwriting, but it seems here that Greg was VERY biased towards his own songs. Only 3 or 4 Brett songs ... Read More:

This is The Ataris first for Columbia, and its a really good effort. Previously they put 3 albums out on Kung Fu and an EP on Fat Wreck Chords. All 4 releases were amazing but the middle full length, Blue Skies, was my favourite. I'd read that the band thought this release was a bit of a return to the style of that album with a little more of a recent Foo Fighters/Jimmy Eat World feel to it so I was very excited about this release. It doesn't quite fit that description but it is an amazing release, elements of straight forward rock are present, especially when compared to older ataris songs but its still definitely their record. The great change is in the maturity of the songwriting. Opener So Long, Astoria lifts its chorus from an idea in the Goonies, a cult ... Read More:

O.k. so they are very politcal but every band are allowed to do a song which they can laugh at. Yes 'Stranded' and 'Death of John Smith' are fantastic but I totally love 'Kill All The White Man' such a fun song and one of my all time favourite punk / ska songs. These are one of the few bands around now that are brilliant all the time. Get this and 'Punk In Drublic' and thank yourself latter.

Gato Negro is the last album by 7 Year Bitch, one of the many rior grrrl bands of the arly 1990s. Unlike their first 2 albums, this one was recorded for a major label, and this shows in the sound quality. Where the previous albums were decidedly lo-fi, this album benefits from clear production - no longer does the guitar drown out everything else. Nevertheless, 7 Year Bitch still sound as angry as they did when they started out. The songs are driven - powerful rhythms and searing guitar, and of course, Selene Vigil's vocals. Vigil is a perfect front woman, who can sound vulnerable as well as outraged - both equally well. Her lyrics are thoughtful and thoughtprovoking. Released in 1996, this album came out as the media hype about Riot Grrrl has long ... Read More:

This is by far the most superior of Sublime's three studio albums. While the self titles 'Sublime' album is seen as superior because of its commercial success, '40 oz to freedom is where it all started.
It is such a loss to the music world that Bradley Nowell died showcasing his versatile musical talents of this album mixing reggae, ska, a bit of punk, and some thrash music.
While Bradley may not be around anymore his musical influence lives on. Some of the standout tracks on this 21 track filled cd are '40 oz to freedom', 'Date Rape', '54-46 That's My Number/Ball and Chain', and 'Dont Push'.
With an album as varying as this your personal preferences will be treated to different types of music in a blend that will constantly surprise ... Read More:
