This is an absolutely superb album, packed with the kind of catchy and witty songs that afficionados of the American Hardcore scene have come to expect from this band. If you're into energetic guitar music and like to sing along, this is an essential purchase. "Please Play This Song On The Radio" says all that needs to be said about current chart acts, but in a song that none of them could ever hope to write, let alone carry off. If you're a fan of Bad Religion or early Offspring, you'll know all about this band. If you're not, you should give them a go - there'll almost certainly be several songs you like and a couple you absolutely love.

I love this album, a great blend of ramones style punk and SoCal. Fave tracks, "Every night" "Peter Brady" (love the fat mike bit) and the tile track "a new tommorow". The guitar tone on this album is real cool too, I'd be interested to find out about the recording methods.

Although screeching weasel are not around anymore this is still one of my favourite albums around. It's not exactly an album full of rage but there is a lot of emotion and some classic songs here. 'Second floor east' and 'One Step Beyond' are great but it's the album as a whole that rules. Ben Weasel's singing is as stunning as ever and the guitar and bass link up nicely to make some well structured songs and a rounded album. Nice. It's not Ramones, it's past the Riverdales and it's not as 'modern' as tv city dream or emo but I love it and that's all that matters. You don't have to buy it though, that's up to you...but if you're fed up with all the crap they're feeding you on the radio and tv and telling you that 'this is alternative' ... Read More:

"Ignorance Is Bliss" is a bold, fantastic and rewarding album - it is also the album which very nearly killed Face To Face. Sadly, despite it's mantra of non-conformity a lot of punk music fans are merely conforming to a different and arguably more stringent and strangulating set of rules and when Face To Face chose to stretch themselves as artists and explore new possibilities and horizons, a large chunk of their fan base screamed "Sell Out" and either turned their back on the band or worse still went to concerts and actually booed them! So bad was the fans' reaction that the band climbed down and released a follow-up album "Reactionary" which was just that and whilst still great (they didn't make bad albums!) robbed us of the chance to see where ... I bought this on vinyl way back when it was released (1989) as "Hey judester" alone and played it to death. It still gets played all the time, but now on CD! How can I describe their sound? Didjits are obviously influenced heavily by the fifties r'n'r ethic but their sound is definitely contemporary punk (but not that horrible clean "pop-punk" which seems to prevail over everything now!) Basically, they still don't sound like anything today and the only band with a vaguely similar attitude is Zeke, but even they lack the wit and straight up r'n'r flavour of Didjits. Every album and EP goes off but "Hey Judester" is still the business. Don't expect angst and songs about unity. Sex, drugs, fights and loud guitars is the ... Read More:

The offspring's third album after 'ignition' and the (no pun intended) smash-hit 'Smash'. This time produced by the producer of Jane's addiction, tracks often seem to have some jane's addiction influence, but when you listen to the entire album it is still undeniably offspring style. Having bought this album after i bought the 'greatest hits' collection, I found that several tracks were unbelievably catchy and some songs had more mature themes; 'Gone Away' in particular.
This is my rating of the songs
01 Disclaimer 9/10 possibly the best intro to a punk album ever. Very funny.
02 The Meaning of Life 8/10 Good song, good riffs.
03 Mota 9/10 I love this song, the opening riff and 'MOTA' is awesum.
04 Me ... Read More:
