The screeching weasels are a very good punk band they use very simple chords (but very effective) and their songs are fast and quite easy to sing along to. The well know punk bank blink 182 also rate the screeching weasels and have said that they are one of their favourite bands. My favourite track is cool kids but they are all good

In my opinion this is by far one of the greatest punk rock albums of all time!!!! For me this album is on par with insomniac as there greatest album with kerplunk comming a close second. Originally this album was called 39/smooth and only had ten songs on it (by the way the original is only available on vinyl). Recorded over christmas 89 and new year 90 when billy joe, mike and john keifmeyer(the original drummer) were still in high school. This is an amazing album considering it was written by 3 high school kids!!!
This album is a compilation of the LP 39/smooth, thier first ever recording the EP 1000 hours, their second EP Slappy and the final song on this compilation is a song off the early 90's compilation The Big One. All in all ... Read More:

This has guitar solo's, so the so-called "nu" generation wouldn't be happy with this purchase at all (that is said with tongue-in-cheek may I add). This little gem of a record has more in common with The Stooges and Motorhead than anything you'd like to class as a "today" band.
