Sometimes all you need is fast and furious guitar riffs, drums and vocals- The Hives provide all these with plenty of attitude and eccentricity to spare!
Check out 'Main Offender', it's an absolute blast and features my all time favourite guitar riff. 'Hate To Say I Told You So' was a big hit in indie clubs and a great track to throw yourself around the dancefloor to. This mega compilation may feature a lot of similar sounding songs but in this case it really doesn't matter, all that matters is the energy of the songs, great guitar riffs like on 'Here We Go Again' and the previously mentioned 'Main Offender' as well as some smart lyrics (the best examples can be found on 'Supply And Demand' and 'a.k.a.I-D-I-O-T').

This album was the 3rd album from the offspring. Ignition was great but didn't get as popular. But as soon as the videos for 'Come Out and Play(Keep 'Em Seperated)' 'Self Esteem' and 'Gotta Get Away' were released they hit big time.
Then Ixnay was amazing. The First 4 Albums were the best and i can't choose between them.
I love the later albums too but they could have done so much better on Conspiracy Of One. Which if i had to choose would be my worst album.
But anything by the offspring is first class and i love them all.

This is the first RBF album I ever heard, and I definately prefer it to 'We're not happy till you're not happy'
A good buy, quite upbeat musically, with depressing but sarcastic lyrics which are thoroughly enjoyable. I like pretty much every song on this album, there are very few weak tracks.

ok yes this didnt sell as many copies as smash or probably any of the other albums they released after that but it should have done. it is a fantastic album from start to finish. the songs are fast and punchy and probably among the heaviest that the spring have ever written. you can see very clearly that this album is the logical progresion from their self titled debut with all the rawness of any punk band to the slightly more polished uber record that was smash. ignition is no better or no worse than either of those records and it is shame that this album seems almost to have been left behind as it is a phenominal if basic collection of ludicrously catchy songs. all about three minutes long and with wall to wall waa-ooo`s. simple, direct, basic all of these are ... Once in a blue moon, a record comes along that simply smashes any expectations you've had for that genre, "Emergency & I" is one those. The Dismemberment's Plan sound is unique in every sense of the word. Swerving and scything rhythms are splattered with resonating guitar that reverberates under Travis Morrison's enthusiastic and clever delivery. Lyrically, "Emergency & I" is near perfect; "Spider in the Snow" drips with post collegiate melancholy whereas "8 ½ Minutes" screeches with the raging moral confusion of apocalyptic circumstances. Still completely revolutionary six years on, "Emergency & I" defies belief, its ingenuity only surpassed by its lethal hooks ("Gyroscope") and mind numbingly catchy chorus's ("You Are Invited"). Most of all and probably ... Read More:

I have to say, I am most unimpressed. I heard a great punk cover of 'My favorite things' from 'Sound of Music' and sought it. I was in a tattoo parlour and he just told me 'find it'. So I searched and searched, hassled him again and he still won't tell me. The closest thing on itunes or anywhere else was this. This is not punk. This is some kind of nu-metal-crappy-ultra-compressed-with harmonies-excuse for punk that I hear far too much of thes days, and it really ought to be called pop. This is for kids. It is an insult to punk. The version I heard was very raw, one guitar without the layers, real drums, chugging bass and hurled vocals - with more punch than a speedball, it sounded like it was recorded by a Ramones alter-ego, on a shiny day. I might be a fool ... Read More:

No collection of mere cast-offs (but then NOFX seem to have a grasp of irony that is almost unique among Americans), this collection of 47 tracks contains some of the band's finest work. Some songs - such as Murder the Government, Eat the Meek and I'm Telling Tim - crop up in slightly different form on other albums, while others are drawn from B-sides, compilations and the previously 7"-only Surfer and Fuck the Kids EPs. For your money, you get punk, ska, hardcore, serious tracks, hilarious tracks and covers. The many stand-out tracks include Vincent, Drugs are Good, We Threw Gasoline on the Fire..., Three on Speed and the aforementioned I'm Telling Tim. The only tracks to which the title really applies are a rather lame cover of the Misfits' Last Caress ... Read More:

This album, with maybe the exception of the New America and Into The Unknown, gets slagged the most of all the BR albums by a long way!
Ignore it, this is a great album. It is far from BR's best, and there are a few weak tracks, but there are also some great songs that had anouther 'new' band slapped onto CD would have been proclaimed as being the greatest new thing. The Voracious March Of Godliness is one such track, it's fantastic! So while not being incredible this album is well worth repeated listens if you are a BR fan and if not, maybe get some of their older stuff first, but don't forget to come back and get this album because it's more than worthy of your CD collection!
So ignore all the people who give it a kick in the teeth (probally just ... Read More:
