This song is a genius at work. This is still 1 of Michaels greatest ever songs, and my advice to you is to buy this. It is brilliant. If you are not aware of what this song is, it is on The Simpsons. Trust me, buy this album. The album its self is not his greatest album by far, but the song 'Ben' is a master piece!! You will believe my every word once you have listened to it. and it is quite cheap!! a bargain at that price!!

In early 1981 it was announced that Diana Ross was leaving Motown Records after twenty years for a reported $20,000,000 deal with RCA Records. After riding high on the success of the dynamic diana (1980) album, Diana Ross was certainly in a position to pick and choose. Following the news of her departure, Motown issued one last album, To Love Again which featured new-at-the-time-of-release songs as well as some old hits and tracks directly plucked from various albums. If anything it was a celebratory exercise to mark her dynamic combination with songwriter Michael Masser who later went on to produce Whitney Houston.

Motown Remixed

I had been looking forward to this album for a long time. I have enjoyed the Verve remixed series but these really just go to show how great the originals were because these remixes are just not very good. At best they are like the 12 inch remixes played in clubs and at worst, not naming any specific tracks they are tedious. A failed experiment...back to the old vinyl singles I think

My copy of this CD was returned to Amazon. One track had an audio drop-out in the middle of the song; another track had a loud hum on the back end of the fade out.

Another CD from the same series (Martha and the Vandellas) had similar faults.

Annoyed? YES!

Before the Beatles few had heard of Tamla Motown and in 1963 their biggest star was Mary Wells who did an entire album of Beatles songs for another label as well as being a special guest of the Beatles.
When they covered You really got a hold on me the song was less than a year old via the Miracles.Another Motown song they covered was Money (thats what I want).In the U K Motown music was issued on the London American and Oriole labels from 1960 to 1963 and was few and far between.
Motown's first foray into the music from England was via a Supremes album called A Littl Bit Of Liverpool-which by its ridiculous title showed it was going to be some time before America knew much about Liverpool when this collection included songs by the Animals and the Dave Clark 5 and ...
