I agree with what reviewers have said so far. This is not as good as Talking Book, Innervisions, Fulfillingness or Songs In The Key. It is quite a good introduction to the classic Stevie sound though and the listener can see how Stevie developed that trademark sound over the next 4 or 5 albums. I would say it is better than Where I'm Coming From and the 60s Motown period is nicely summerised on several compilations albums, so this is the first truly great Stevie solo album. My faves are 'Superwoman', 'Happier Than The Morning Sun', 'Keep On Running' and even 'Evil', though it is very cheesy, I like a bit of that sometimes!. I know that some people don't like 'greatest hits' albums for one reason or another. However this particular one is superb, it's a must have. All his best hits cramed onto two discs accompanied with some bonus live tracks and previously unrealeased recordings. For example 'Where are we Going' is execllent and speaks on so many different levels. 'The Very Best of Marvin Gaye' is perfect for any newcomers to his music, aswell as those who just wish to add to their Marvin Gaye collection.

I bought this album because it was cheap, and I am interested in jazz. Not that I am a jazz fanatic. I am usually an electronic buff, but want to explore other genres as well to not get the tunnel vision one tends to get with just listening to one genre. So I dare sometimes dive deep into jazz. Not that I have gotten the chance much, so this CD would be a first attempt.

Well, to be frank, I was mildly disappointed. This is not jazz, I know that much. This is soul of various origins. Granted some tracks are really old, and some are very good. But if soul was what I wanted, which is not the case, I would have gone to the local gas station and bought a 10 cd package of the stuff.

The Story of the Supremes this is a good 2 cd set for anybody to start with, it will show you how and why the supremes are the one and only all time girl group, others may try but will never be any closer to being supreme

This album ended the remarkable run of albums Wonder wrote, performed and produced in the 70s, starting with Music of my mind and finishing in Songs in the key of life. This album is almost unrecognisable from any of them. It was the sound track of a film which has sunk without trace, but I'd love to see it. I understand that much of the music is written to go with the film with scenes as strange as hooking a plant up to electrodes and measuring it's sensitivity while they chop a head of lettuce in front of it. Consequently much of this album is soundscapes and disappointing to anyone seeking radio friendly pop songs.

I bought this album because my good good friend selfishly moved out with her copy of one of the Pips albums. I haven't even got around to listening to the 2nd album in this disc set because the 1st CD is so good!

Always loved "I Feel A Song In My Heart" and no matter how many times I play it it still makes me want to sing and bop along. Have a new found love for 60's, especially Motown and this was well worth the buy.
