Upon forst impressions, the CD sounds incredibly Cheesey, not that it put me off! Ruthie Henshall plays the part of Polly to perfection on the recording, and Kirby Ward so crisp that even if he wispered his way through the show, it would still be clear enoguh to understand him!

There is no way I can pick out favourite songs, each one is as great as the next. However, Slap That Bass and I got Rythem will leave you singing for hours after lisenting to just 10 seconds. This recording is not some tacky London Cast, trying to beat the Broadway version, it is in fact much better, and I would Highly reccomend this one over Broadway.

I have owned this recording on vinyl since the 70s and was glad to finally update to CD. I agree with the other reviewers, adding only that while Gillan's Jesus is outstanding (rivalled only by Steve Balsamo in recent years), it's Murray Head's Judas that is the exceptional vocal performance, and never really bettered by any since.

PS: If you're considering the latest cast recording featuring Steve Balsamo, one of the highlights is Alice Cooper's Herod. Priceless!

The wedding singer is a great lighthearted musical, with an impresive score which manages to be both uplifting and emotional. With music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin it is a very good modern musical. With its opening in 2006 on Broadway it helped to start the revival of stage shows and musicals.

Hairspray is an excellent film with equally excellent music. The music, which was composed by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman is a complete knockout and the ensemble cast deliver the goods. This collector's editon features an extra disc which features a song peformed by Nikki Blonsky, which was cut from the film, entitled "I Can Wait", as well as demos of songs which did make it into the film and various other recordings specially made for this album. The CD is great value for money and any Hairspray fan will love it! The album also includes a booklet containing lyrics as well as stickers and photocards of the cast of characters. Amazing! :]

In my record collection, I have an old vinyl LP of the soundtrack of the film Carousel.I never thought the recording was very good, even though I love the songs. However, this new remastered CD is really first class, giving a new feel to the songs, plus extra music not available on the old version. If yiu have fond memories of the film, this is the recording to buy.

this show is a geat way to bring peoples attention back to xanadu and for that i give it three stars but unfortunately kerry butler destroys all the original olivia newton john songs ,as lots of other reviewers have pointed out she just cant sing, so she had no chance of getting anywhere near to the tone,pitch and range of miss newton john.The show is great and if kerry stuck to acting that would have been great,saying that its worth going to see the show then if you like buy the cd but not before.

I've seen this wonderful movie several times and can honestly say this; The movie itself is dramatic, funny, moving, exciting, and intriguing. Needless to say that the sets are great and music is fantastic. I especially applaud the entire cast on such memorable acting performances. The movie was written by Keenen Ivory Wayans and directed Robert Townsend whom both emits a universal message through this film. Message being; No matter what happens in life, ups and downs, good or bad, gains or losses-we must lift ourselves through it and keep on pushing for the better ,no matter what.
