I have four musicians that I look out for Mike Oldfield Vangelis
J.M.J and terry Oldfield
Vangelis comes a quality second and In my view compilations are
the best way to listen to Vangelis .
The reason being that he can make some really good music but in
the full albums that I have bought I have not been totally pleased,
do not get me wrong there is some brilliant music on all the albums
I own of Vangelis but also some dull music as well.
This one has the best from a collection of his work and it shows
his versatility and different styles he has It may even prompt you
to check out some of the albums that the music has been taken from I
have and bought albums ... Read More:

I have loved this album since it was released. It is sounds strange the first time it is heard. If you like it will become part of your life and part of your soul.
I saw the Penguin Cafe Orchestra play at Islington Union Chapel in 2007 when they played three concerts. It was one of the most astounding concerts I have seen. The atmosphere was electric with excitement that was shared by both the audience and the players alike.
The music was, apparently, created by Penguin Cafe's founding member so that he and his friends could meet and share a common interest. Not many works are created for nine musicians from very different disciplines; two violins, a cello, a saxophone, an oboe, pianist and trash percussion. The ... Read More:

The multi-million selling "1492: Conquest of Paradise" is another musical masterpiece from Vangelis.
Christopher Columbus's first voyage from Spain to the Bahamas, Hispaniola and Cuba was a truly significant and momentous event in human history. The film, directed by Ridley Scott and released to mark the 500th anniversary of this journey, is greatly enhanced through this accompanying music.
Every track in this 55 minute CD is quality and there's great variety - for example, the gravitas of the maritime sounding "Conquest of Paradise", the Latin hymns of "Monastery of La Rabida", the Hispanic atmosphere in "Deliverance", the regal air that is created in "City of Isabel", the innocence of the indigenous peoples and the beauty ... Release Date November 07, 2005
I recently purchased this CD for my Mum for Christmas because she kept banging on about how good they were. I had never even heard of Libera before I bought it. I have to say though, Mum was right. I am now a bigger fan than she is. The music and singing on this CD is absolutely georgeous. It has to be the most relaxing music I have ever heard. I urge anyone to buy it - I love all types of music myself and I am sure that a true music lover would not be disappointed with this CD.
Release Date November 11, 1985
This was originally released in 1985. I bought it then, shortly after 'Discovery' the year before, and I loved it. It is the best Oldfield compilation up to that time and one of the best of all time. The enjoyment factor is still there over twenty years later.
The first section consists of short, charming instrumentals before the second section of vocal tracks. We are treated to his best songs which have a pop/rock/folky feel to them: the smash hit Moonlight Shadow with its blistering guitar solo, 'To France' with more great guitar work, the delightfully strange 'Five Miles Out', and so on. It's a shame that the five minute version of 'Shadow on the Wall' slightly outstays its welcome.
Part three consists of excerpts from his early complex pieces. ... Read More:

"Once in a red moon" is a symphony for instruments and voice, echoing hebraic and medieval, celtic and spanish musicalities. The elegiac theme in "Awakening" is resumed and varied all along the album, finally ending with dramatic tones of requiem in "Elegie". Two other compositions stand out from the instrumental part: the energetic "Invitation", a record of joyous sonority and beating effect, and "Fairytale", a musical ballad with trobadoric rhythm. The vocal part is dominated by "You raise me up", where Irish voices of Belfast singer Brian Kennedy and Anúna choir are called to illuminate the spirituality of the lyric, and "Gates of dawn", where the powerful, Gaelic melodiosity of Scottish singer Karen Matheson is transposed in a solo performance in English language. ...
