i have had this cd for over a year now and have not had the chance to listen to it due to other commitments. finally the big day arrives and....what an immense disappointment.after the initial anticipation of another "journey" , i found that by music track 2 i had lost all interest in the album , so boring , except for patrick stewarts narration , the music and the songs were. This is surely not the utter rubbish that the best keyboard player in the worls has found himself now churning out . this album should be played to insomniacs to help them sleep. By track 8 i was beginning to lose the will to live. Please rick never again

Tai Chi Too

I have several CDs by OS and this, after a few listens to start with, has become my clear favourite from his excellent Tai Chi/Qigong music catalogue. This is China with more than a Tibetan influence containing both soulful and spiritually uplifting music. There is some excellent East and West traditional instrumentation - no prominent synthesized sound here - with occasional singing/chant singing. If I have a criticism it is simply that one later track is a bit too wordy for me. Nevertheless, for the Tai Chi practitioner I challenge you not to find tracks suitable for form work. If you have been to China, even Tibet, this will invoke strong memories. If not, enjoy yet another gift from the East.

I expected great things from this: as a fan of David Sylvian and specifically the work he has done with Holger Czukay I rather naively expected a little more of the same. How wrong could I be.
Thoroughly nasty guitar, evil vocals: it just sounds so horribly dated. I really expected greatness and was rewarded with dross... Disappointing.

In the Garden of Souls

This is the only Vas album I to which I have listened. The paper insert has a listing of the songs but not the words themselves with the exception of some poem “…in the garden of souls” – Azam. The cover image is “Entwined Buddha Ayuthaya” 1988. Try not to get caught up in labeling and just enjoy “In the garden of souls” for what it is.
There is a nice traditional feel to this album with a comforting consistency from one track to the next. You can use this for background music what the warning than soon you will be so wrapped up in this that you will forget what else you intended to do. Regardless on what side of the fence you are about music labels under new age you will appreciate this album.
