This is a great album and probably my favorite from Brian Eno. It has that dreamy music that is from out of this world. Good for use in trance work and healing sessions in general, as relaxes client and therapist alike. As with much New Age music, this one in particular is timeless.

I was at the live recording of this album ( I love prog rock.. ELP, Yes Crimson , etc.). As the concert developed I thought that is was so bad that it would be received in near silence by the audience. I was amazed by the audience as it was clapped and cheered to the rafters. No further comment needed.
PS. Try the band Greenslade

Christ, this is fantastic!! I'm a huge world music fan anyway but this is something really special.
It's interesting too how they meld traditional Irish dancing with Spanish and Balkan music, absolutely thrilling entertainment! I also adore it because my Grandpa was from Ireland and he was such a gentle, kind man. Whichever way you look at it, its classy stuff and worth every penny!

I brought this on in my quest for finding music that would inspire me when I'm writing or drawing and believe me, it hasn't disappointed. I'd heard of Clannad for a very long time but only now do I realise how great they are and why I should have found them a long time ago!
This is a wonderful 'introduction' CD to the band. Some of the tracks, most of the more 'pop' type ones with guitars and the duets aren't to my taste. I much prefer the more Celtic and haunting songs such as 'Theme From Harry's Game' (a song I didn't even realise that was by Clannad! Derrr!!!) and most of the tracks later on the CD. However, that's just me and overall the CD is very enjoyable and very relaxing!
A must by if you are just discovering the Clannad, ... Read More:

I was attuned to Reiki II using this CD and now use it for all of my distant treatments thusfar. It is wonderful and stirring to aid meditation and visualisation. A 'must have' for all Reiki practitioners.

This is the greatest album of the 1970's, the album that introduced ambient music to the world, confirmed Eno's genius, and inspired Bowie to make his 'Berlin' albums.Only five of the songs contain vocals. The opening song is an avant garde cracker that pulls us dramatically into Eno's pioneering sonic landscape. AGW'S mood is by turns reflective (St Elmo's Fire),elegiac (Golden hours), serene (the title song,The Big Ship, Becalmed, Zawinul/Lava), sombre (In Dark Trees,Spirits drifting) romantic,(I'll come running, Everything merges with the night) and adventurous (Sky saw,Over fire island) And Little Fishes is sublimely odd. But the album's never anything less than original, and enthralling.
If I had to pick any standout tracks, the title track is the most ... Read More:

Well, I was very dissappointed in this CD, I was looking for a relaxing natural soundtrack, and to be quite frank, there are no natural sounds on this CD at all, and I find it hard to believe that water was is in anyway connected to this 'music' at all.
Are all ambient heaven cds like this??
Release Date October 05, 1998
This CD is absolutely brilliant. I originally bought it because I heard the track 'Home Away From Home' on Classic FM and wanted to come down the aisle to it, but I quickly fell in love with the whole CD, and so did my fiance. The last four tracks are my favourites but as the tracks tell their tale, they are alternately sad, thoughtful, lively and uplifting. It has some fantastic music on it - if you love Irish music and particularly the flute, viola and piano, this is the CD for you. I have since bought this CD for my mum, who also loves it, and have bought the sheet music so some friends can play it in piano and flute duet at our wedding.

The music is tranquil and relaxing and is good quality for the price. It makes good background music for concentrating on a task when you don't want to work or read in silence, but don't want to be distracted by music.
There are several CDs in the Ambient Heaven collection; I also bought "Sounds of the Forest, but I found that was inferior quality and quite tacky in comparison to the `Dawn' CD.
"Anti-stress" and "Sleep" in the `Body & Soul' collection were better quality than these however.

This does not do it for me at all. It is like weird synth music with touch of 70's porn feel and wierd oriental mix that is to fast for relaxation adn has loud bongs and sythn parts which would wake you up if lsitening to whilst having a therapy treatment. I trieed to be objective and did listen to it as whole adn hated it if honest not my thing and I don't feel remotely relaxing more elevator music that is old fashion and not wholesome holistic. I would actually send it back as not worth the money and dissappointed. Some may like it and find it inoffensive but I just don't find it what I wanted and not to my taste at all. I found myself laughing at the strangly sinsiter action movie like karate tunes on it what is calming about this. It is like your odd uncle composed ... Read More:
