Release Date November 24, 1997
This is George Michael pre solo stuff. It is a really good album but I don't like the order the tracks are in a small point I know but sometimes I can't be bothered reprogramming C.D.'s.I've given it 4 stars because they have left out some great tracks from the albums" The FINAL" and the first album. But a must for al George Michael fans and admirers

No, I wasn't, don't worry.
Believe me, some of this has dated badly, but so what? The reason Sugababes' "Freak Like Me" was so instant was all Numan, and the source material is all here - every decent single from the first half of his career, before he went all clattery and metally and rocky and gothy. Though some of that does snake on here at the latter end of this set.
The re-mixed "Cars" sounds genuinely amazing, so zesty, it explodes out of the speakers. But that's just a tag-on to what people now hail as a tremendous musical legacy.
Was it? Is it? Yes. Whatever you think of the man, he was a great topline writer. Ironic, when you consider he's most famous for singing like a robot. These are great, ground-breaking ... Read More:

I honestly had to laugh after reading some of the reviews of this album, the word cynical is quite frankly inaccurate. A greatest Hits LP is quite simply a greatest hits LP and all the hits in this collection are the bands most successful and well known songs, any real fans of the band would be happy with this album, infact it could and probably has generated new fans hence its charts success(rememder it kept Madonna of the no1 spot). Lets face it any band who has 2o years of music to pick from isnt going to pick the lesser known unsuccessful tracks for their first compilation this is not cynical just common sense.
Release Date July 13, 1998
For some reason known only to the record company, the tracks on this compilation are not in chronological order. The album thus opens with 1979s synth-rock track Atomic and then moves back one year for the equally electronic but far more catchy Heart Of Glass, the pop and dance classic.
Track 3, Sunday Girl, also comes from the excellent Parallel Lines album, whilst Call Me (theme from American Gigolo) is another electronic dance track that has not aged well because it lacks a good tune. Next comes The Tide Is High, a lilting reggae number from 1980s Autoamerican. Denis takes us back to the brilliant 1977 album Plastic Letters, whilst Dreaming and Union City Blue come from 1980s less than inspiring Eat To The Beat album that also contains Atomic.

...and after 100 seasons of listening to Big Country, i just want to say ,Thank's guys !,for making one of rock's Greatest Albums, in The Crossing. (and that was just the start of a stunning collection of discs). Stuart man,you are seriously missed .Much has been rightly made of the collective musicianship of the band...so,all i want to add is that, it is the beautiful original heartfelt and always inspirational lyrics that complete this masterpiece !. Missed more than ever, the scottish poet - Stuart Adamson . "And nobody smiled when we knew what was lost , We knew well enough only time proves the cost".

Frankie Goes To Hollywood was one of the very best bands of the 1980s. The band only released a couple of albums, then it split... but its music still lives on, or rather has been revived with a BANG! release, and this is well-deserved. So even though Frankie Say... No More, Frankie still say a lot!
This compilation contains the best track of the outstanding concept album 'Welcome To The Pleasuredome', such as the debut hit single 'Relax' (regarded controversial back then!), the absolutely great 'Two Tribes', the breathtakingly beautiful ballad 'The Power Of Love', and an interesting and varied version of 'Ferry Cross The Mersey'. Plus stuff from the less impressive 'Liverpool' album, like 'Rage Hard', but sadly not including the wonderful 'Is Anybody Out There?'.
Release Date March 18, 1996
I personally think this album is one of the seminal albums that set the tone for the 80's, nobody said what that decade had to say better than INXS's brand of enthusiastic Rock Pop fusion, With Kick INXS are at the zenith of their powers, every song is a work of quality and Michael Hutchence great voice compliments the style of the music perfectly, INXS achieved a sense of identity with this album, Like Queen you could tell an INXS song was going to be an INXS song just with the first few notes, songs like New Sensation, Need you tonight and Devil Inside are some of the most memorable hits in history and the albums packed with other great tracks like Calling all Nations and Kick, Trust me, this is a stunning album, the 80's was the decade style forgot but it's music will live on.

I already own this classic album in 3 forms, LP CD & remastered CD.
Having purchased this on the strength of the live gig, I'm afraid it's painful listening. The band sound great but the vocals are out of tune & I've found it unlistenable. Why would the band (Mac?) authorise this, there must be better gigs to release?
Stick to the remastered Ocean Rain CD & save your hard earned....

KJ always sounded good in session mode - the stripped-down raw mood really suited their songs.
Although this anthology naturally covers their early career, you couldn't wish for a better "alternative" take on some classic tracks. These are no lightweight versions either, and really stand alongside the studio versions.
For me standout track is "The Hum" - if there is a better more relentless grinding march towards the apocalypse then I've yet to hear it.
Buy this and play it loud.
