Let me just start by saying that New Order's seminal 1980s works has the potential to form one of the greatest compilations of all time, enough to rival even Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy and The Kink Kronikles. Unfortunately, every (official) New Order compilation has a number of flaws that detract from the otherwise-great material. Singles is no different.
The first three songs, "Ceremony," "Procession" and "Everything's Gone Green" capture the group still playing a very Joy Division-esque style, just much, much poppier than anything that could have appeared on Unknown Pleasures or Closer. Then comes "Temptation," their earliest 'classic' and the first example of New Order actually making dance music.

This is my favourite album of all time. Worth every penny of the 19.99. The isn't just a double CD as one of the premature reviews said previously. Its a beautifully packaged book with 2 CD's. Why do people review items before they come out? I'm a life long U2 fan and I have all of the bonus tracks on vynyl so its great to now have them now on CD. The remastering of the main album is vastly superior to the original CD. Who's complaining.

This is the album that really marked the Cure out as a great act. Until this moment they could have been noted as merely an interesting cult band. This here is a fine, fine collection of recordings.
Clocking in at a mere 35 minutes the original release felt much longer because of it's deeply seductive power. Within it's beautiful simplicity lies an instinctive and thrilling songwriting talent. There are no bad tracks here at all. Even the short instrumental interludes (that originally marked the beginnings of side one and side two of the vinyl album & cassette) are just perfect.
This album was just one of the reasons why 'fans' took the Cure so much to heart. I'm not talking about the usual black clad, backcombed pale and ... Read More:

A-Ha was Norway`s biggest selling act. This globally popular trio was known for it`s innovative videos and stage shows. This album is one of their best of the top singles starting with 28 September 1985 `Take on me`, which reached number 2 in the UK charts. All 16 tracks are recorded in ADD, of which 15 have been chart toppers, on this album it contains 3 Remixed versions for your pure enjoyment.
If you do not have A-Ha in your collection then this is the classic album to buy and you will wish that you had brought it earlier.
All Dee-Jays should have this monster album in there record collection.

My favourite TFF album by a mile. When the boys made "The Hurting" they had no idea if they'd ever make another album, so they made sure the whole thing was chock full of quality.
As someone else said, there are a couple of duffers, but that shouldn't detract you from buying this CD.
The amount of poptastic singles on here will boggle yer mind: "The Hurting", "Change", "Mad World" and "Pale Shelter". You also get the added bonus of having one their other early classic single "The Way You Are" included as a bonus track.

I must say this is there tour de force as far as I am concerned , less bombastic than Adolescent Sex, more smooth than Obscure Alternatives and just about better than Gentlemen Take Poloroids and Tin Drum.
Every Track is a winner as other above albums have highs and several lows.
Sylvians voice is on top form here between the screech and the drone,Its a a shame they couldn`t add on I Second That Emotion instead of 3 versions of the sublime All Tomorrows Parties and 2 versions of Quiet Life.
Cest La vie.

This would have made an excellent EP. When Bob knocks out a good song it's really worth listening to. But truly great tracks such as 'How Beautiful You Are' and 'Just Like Heaven' drown in a horrible porridge of musical indulgence. There are simply too many bad tracks here.
The good ones stand out gleaming like carrots in Saturday night pavement sick. But tricky to pick out without getting slime on your fingers.
But now you can buy individual tracks as mp3 files so all you have do is find out is which are the good ones and which are the bad. Clue: There are 12 horrible tracks and five good ones.

Iam glad this Visage album has finally been released, this was an excellent album for the time and captured the New Romantic Movement at it's best. Sound on this album is good if not excellent. The extra tracks are great especially Damned don't cry 12" and Mind of a toy 12". Brings back some nice memories. This abum is heavily influenced by Midge Ure/Boys and almost sounds like Ultravox in some parts,Steve Strange adds the glitz and polish to the overall production. Sleeve notes are very informative also, pity Polydor could'nt of done the same years ago, as this is a major album from the 80's era. Great Purchase for 80's fans.

I have two Devotchka albums, this one and A Mad and Faithful Telling, and I have given both several months of listening. The latter took some time but it grew on me and I like every single track, something that is rare for me.
Unfortunately, as much as I would like to, I cannot say the same for this album. The simple fact is that there are too many average and below tracks on this album, it's too hit and miss.
The opener falls well short of Devotchka standards and it's followed by two better but still not good enough tracks (track 3 is a 25 second interlude). The fifth and title track is a great ballad dominated by Urata's distinctive vocals, and full of emotion that we come to expect from the band but to wait till the fifth track is a bit too much ... In the eighties, when pop music (at least in Britain) was dominated by synthesisers, the Bangles provided a contrast with their guitar-driven rock music. They were not alone, of course – Dire Straits and Bruce Springsteen also come to mind – but they were very much in the minority. The Bangles recorded a lot of upbeat, fun songs so did not always get the credit they deserved.
This compilation contains the three huge international hits that everybody remembers. Manic Monday is an up-tempo rocker. Walk like an Egyptian is a novelty song that (to some people) destroys their credibility but I love it. Eternal flame is a lovely ballad, more recently revived by Atomic Kitten who had a huge UK hit with it.
Apart from those three, they had several other hits, ... Read More:
