These songs alone would have made Eliminator one of ZZ Top's three greatest albums,their embrace of Rock-synths and sequencers make this a blockbuster filled with hits & pure Energy.It's still an excellent ZZ Top album,whether Fans or blues purists alike believe it or not,definitely one of their best,thanks in part to their unflaggingly accurate grooves & timing.Then again, that's part of the album's charm,this is new wave blues-rock,looking as good as the omnipresent convertible on the cover,not really the sort of old-school album blues-rock purists will love or appreciate,But one heck of a fun groove-licious album to rock your sound system to

This was the one !!

The album that turned me into a Weller fan for life.

I can vividly remember going to buy it, the day it was released, and it blew me away.
The punk aggression mixed with rocking tunes and every beat of the album telling me that "this was the time" !!

And it certainly was. All Mod Cons is the most accomplished Jam album but nothing touches the raw energy of this one.

Anyone into Punk, Mod, Rock music will realise what an album this is once they have graced their "turntable" with it.

If you want power and energy, dance and aggression,..........LOOK NO FURTHER !!

A MUST for any music fan !!

The Fall are - in themselves - a little bit like listening to a John Peel broadcast, odd one minute, puzzling the next, stretching your patience, and then suddenly something comes along that has you rushing for a pen to note down what you are listening to - something life affirming - a must have. This admittedly patchy album was and presumably still is held in almost religious regard by fans of the Cure. Like most really new creations it mixed less successful moments with others of astonishing revelation.

When this album works it works so well that all other music seems irrelevant. Its seductive draw is so compelling that it almost consumes the listener. Nowhere more so than on its title track.

In fact the core of this extraordinary release reveals itself in two songs: 'Faith' and 'All Cats Are Grey'. They are tonally and emotionally linked and indeed could be part of one work.

If you loved Belinda Carlisle as a Go-Go, then you will really love her on her own. It's like when Geri Halliwell left the Spice Girls, the restrictive parameters of a band and its accompanying prefabricated image were tossed aside. This situation allows Belinda Carlisle to evolve and grow into her own unique blend of pop diva and 80's pin-up queen. Yes, my formative music years were in the 80s, so my favourites are clearly "Heaven is A Place on Earth", "I Get Weak" and "Circle In The Sand", but the rest of the album is also top of the class!

I first got into The Fall (or F All) listening to the Rough Trade compilation "Totally Wired", and thinking "Oh my God, where has this been all my life!!???". I loved the raw, home grown feel of that album, and love this equally as much. This album is good old fashioned "have a go" rock and roll. Buy it now!

The Head On The Door

people always rate this as their favoirite cure album. it could be described as ' the cure do new romantic' but they do it better than all of their comtemporaries (Maybe not Adam Ant). but it is let down by mediocre tracks that dont have a great deal of meaning behind them and even less emotion. It is the cure, but it is almost like a singles collection really. Push and Six Different Ways are just pop ditties. The only song with any depth is really 'sinking' and its hardly depth.

That said - I ADORE this album. As a pop album it is perfect! As a cure album ... it seems to be lacking something.
