An album from Kent delving into the back catologue again to deliver good songs with a vocal edge hence the title In Harmony, containing 24 tracks with unreleased tracks and little known artists at least by this guy.
The artists I have heard of include Act One, Masqueraders, Jackson Five and the Floaters.
The CD gets better each time I listen to it, as at first I was'nt so keen, but I put it back on in the car after a couple of weeks and its a grower which usually means it will last longer in favour. As with all Kent releases good sound quality.

This CD is the second of the 'This is Northern Soul' series of CDs, bringing together the more rarer Motown sounds. Sometimes, the second CD is a series is sometimes a disappointment compared to first, but this CD certainly isn't. It is brilliant! If you are into Northern Soul, you will recognise many of these songs that are great to dance and listen to, with many classics contained in one CD. Those of you who have only listened to the commercial side of Motown will, I am sure, also find the tracks on this CD great to listen to. Lets hope that there will soon be another CD is this series!

What can I say....if you don't have this album it is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. There is enough Soul & Rare Groove on this CD to sustain a man for the rest of his days.
I won't bother being anal and analysing the tracks, they are all superb.
It's not Lavette herself: She has the quintessential R'n'B voice and knows how to use it.
It's not musicianship: The undercover Drive By Truckers are magnificent, and the drop-ins like Spooner Oldham and David Hood give the project some added kudos, too.
It's the songs: You have the lyrical muscle of DBT, including the Dirtroad Dylan himself, Mike Cooley, and the best song on the whole album is written by Elton John, who I'm afraid lost me shortly after Tumbleweed Connection.
Despite that it's a good record, but it most definitely ain't a great record.

Every track on this CD is a total gem. Bert's Apple Crumble is probably my favourite, a particularly groovy instrumental that cannot fail to get you on the dancefloor. I am also starting a one woman Georgie Fame revival based on the brilliance of Somebody Stole My Thunder. There are tons of fanatastic songs on here, so I won't go into details. Needless to say, if you love to dance. If you love sixties music at its most cheesy and 'loungetastic' this is the album for you. I defy you to listen to this without having to get up and dance about every two minutes. In fact, roll back the carpet, turn up the volume and don't bother to sit down at all.
