This two CD set is an absolute delight from start to finish. All of the songs are highly representative of the era. The lyrics are lovely (if a little dated!) the melodies very nice. There is a certain tinge of regret and melancholy in most of the songs, its wonderfully atmospheric. Great voices of the era are represented and although I never saw the TV show the music is very enjoyable. I particularly like 'In the Middle of a Kiss' and 'Without that Certain Thing,' but these are just two of many wonderful songs. The information about the recordings is interesting too; 'Savoy Grill, Dec. 1932' for example. How the world has changed since then but I hope the Savoy Grill has changed less than most places!

This is the same as Greatest Hits Vol 1, but with three bonus tracks, and at a fraction of the price.

John Denver re-recorded all these tracks at a time when he was singing at his very best, also the tracks are approached differently. The result is amazing.

More recent collections contain the inferrior recordings, so this is rare in more ways then one. Very pleasing to the ear, whether your a fan or not. Just buy it !!!
